Geo: 13.0032, -61.246This was my favourite sail EVER. It was STELLAR!!We left Marigot Bay, St. Lucia at 3pm. With the sun setting and an almost full moon rising, we had one of our best, if not THE best, overnight sail to Bequia. Once darkness fell, the Big Dipper was behind us, the Southern Cross in front of us, and pods of dolphins joined us. We slipped through the darkness, past the island of St. Vincent, making our way in to Elizabeth Harbour, Bequia, just after sunrise. After 18 hours it was time for a nap in a new part of the world. Yahoo, we're in the Grenadines! ... read more

Geo: 13.904, -60.9742May 12th, 2016 – Nevis to St. LuciaHello from St. Lucia! We are in the land of MANGOES and boy! is it mango season! We've loving it! Yes, we've moved a fair ways south since the last time I wrote. Here's an overview of the past six weeks.(Please forgive my point form...but there's a lot to tell you and wifi is trying my patience. I'm also working from my ship's notes, so I realize I'm going in and out of the past and present. Not my best work.)March 30th:Attempt number one to leave Nevis for Montserrat. Winds were right on our nose and we were only moving forward at 2 knots. Said forget it and returned to the mooring field. It was a one and a half hour round trip. By 8:30am we were relaxing ... read more

First things first....FIX Dinghy Engine!
With the engine running, we go to check in.

Geo: 15.5688, -61.4555With a broken dinghy engine, we were only going to stay for a few days and carry on to Martinique: the land of plenty-of-boatparts. But we found a Mercury dealer and ordered the parts from Roseau.... read more

Geo: 16.3065, -61.7942Practicing my French and loving it!Throughout the French islands, thus far, we've come across "Toi là! Je t'aime!" spray painted everywhere. I smile each time I see this mini graffiti. I mean, who doesn't like to here that they are loved?!? (Loosely translated: Hey you! I love you, or directly: You there. I love you!) ... read more

Geo: 17.15, -62.63After departing St. Kitts the winds picked up to 30 knot gusts so we unexpectedly turned into the Pinney Beach mooring field in Nevis, checked in and stayed for seven days. This is a gorgeous, lush island with THOUSANDS of goats, donkeys and monkeys! Even better, was that it was Easter weekend and Pinney Beach was the place to be! https://www.tripadvisor.ca/Travel-g147377-c52861/Nevis:Caribbean:Wild.Monkeys.htmlWe met an incredibly generous Canadian couple who invited us to their home, insisted that we bring our laundry, and then took us to The Hermitage for lunch. Thank you so much, Linda and Otta for your kindness, generosity and our new friendship. My whites haven't been this white in a long time!!! ;) http://www.hermitagenevis.com March 29th, 2016 - St.Barth, St.Kitts & NevisHello All,With several days of good sail... read more

Geo: 17.31, -62.73St. Kitts is really named St. Christopher, but I have yet to meet anyone who actually calls this country by it's full name. We sailed from St. Barth to St. Kitts and dropped the anchor for one night in Basseterre with the Q flag up - meaning, we didn't check in, we simply slept there and left the following day for the short sail to Nevis. ... read more

Geo: 17.8981, -62.8511There was a mass exodus from SXM for several days in the third week of March. A good weather window had boats on the move to their next destination and we were part of the southern crowd. There were many others moving in the opposite direction. With Spring around the corner, everyone is thinking of making it to their Hurricane Season destination. So we parted ways with Shangri La after departing the lagoon. They sailed to Saba. We sailed to St. Barth. I bet they had the better day. St. Barth was right on our nose, so we had to tack back and forth. We spent five gorgeous days in St. Barth. It's a beautiful island with spectacular views from the mountain tops. Our dear friends, Craig and Christa on s/v Simunya are living ... read more
