Today saw us laying around on the beech reading and just taking it all in. so good this whole relaxing thing I couldnt do it forever but after the first few weeks this is exactly what is needed. we met a Scottish Mexican guy in our hotel and went for dinner Italian which was crackin before meeting up with some Aussies and having some beers on the beech and dancing on tables. afterwards we headed back and slept.... read more

The early morning boat was again awful I think cattle get better treatment than what we do on these boats its terrible SORT IT OUT THAILAND!! once on the island we managed to get a taxi round to our hostel which was fine Nid's bungalows owned by an Aussie guy who had married a thai woman and a farm of animals it would seem. The room was fine and relaxing enough. The island smelled so bad however and there was again the bustle of cheap cheap and taxi going round. Sleep wasnt so good however. very uncomftable.... read more

As we were packing it turns out the girl in the next bed was from Cumbria small world no? she also studyed at Newcastle. Anyway we all got on the same boat after breakfast and then we got to our island and hostel. slept alot and watched MIB3 and the hangover 2 in a bar round the corner. It was so good to relax and take a step back the island was quiet and enjoyable... read more

Once I had sorted my bags out this morning we met up with some of the girls to take them to the views around the island on the Quad bikes. Had such a good day saw some more isolated bars the rastabar was perfect the view the drinks and the toddler who was asleep had the perfect life. The roads were again very difficult and some of the hills alsmot impossible to get up but we managed. once we got to the beech we were amazed at how they could just keep getting better. We took the bikes back and got our washing. had a chill out in the sea and then met up later on for a last supper and some beers. It was Beckis birthday and then I hit bed.... read more

After a long sleep in the morning we decided it would be cool to see the island from the view points on the map. The best way of course was via Quad bikes so we got ourselves a couple and headed off into the afternoon sun in search of many things views new grounds maybe even an island to call home. Unfortunatly all these things had already been found and we were probably 100 years too late. Anywho we did find a mountain view bar which was a hut on the top of a mountain were one woman and 3 kids sold drinks and a view. What a view it was too possibly the best we have seen so far. We stayed there for a while and took it all in before heading back down and ... read more

After waking up at 3:15am at the bay we had a further 3 hour wait for the boat to take us to the island. sitting on tyres (used) I managed to get a little sleep but not much before the sunrise awoke us and the usual barrage of guides and locals appeared. to this I walked off and took some sunrise snaps. The ferry was awful also packed on a tiny boat like sardines with only the outside to sit and the morning sun litterary beating down on us we got trampled on by people walking past and burnt and very grumpy! all the taxis on the island are hi luxs which i thought was cool as it was perfect for the terrain and you could chill in the back. The hostel was cool a nice ... read more

So after checking out of our hostel the D&D inn we managed to book our bus trip down to the islands without any trouble. the wait however was long so we left our bags and heade over to the palace to take in some history. The palace walk itself was fine maybe 10mins from the hostel and once there we saw alot of gold and alot of overly sized towers which probbably could have been better put to use but I guess the royals will always be the royals right? the museum in the palace was very confusing as it held items such as paint brushes and pencils I'm pretty sure these items arnt that old and the blocks of wood lying around on display were exactly that, blocks of wood. we had a walk aback ... read more

Today we went shooting at the range, before I get to the shooting though I'd like to talk about the place the range was in. An army camp with lots of trucks and weaponry that scared the bejesus out of me when we first got there! all was good though the soilders saluted the guy we were with and he took us round to the range were we shot a varity of weapons 9mm,.35,.45,.22 and a 12 gauge (Zombie invasion I am now ready!) Once we had done the shooting they gave us T-shirts and water and tried to get us to shoot an M16 but that cost monies. Fantastic service got a lift back and decided to go all western and get a BK only it was a triple burger with the works it was ... read more

Was in bed watching tv till late today due to a certain somebody feeling abit rough!. However we took a taxi to the MBK shopping centre and had a walk around and a Mr Dounut. shopping centre was pretty nice and we didnt get pestered so much bought a few bits and bobs before headiung back to the hostel via the Sky train (this is very cool and very air conditioned) afterwards we had some food at a magic resturant where the guy played some awesome card tricks which impressed us enough to go back again if we got chance the food was awesome too. Then it was time to hit the night market to find ourselves a good watch. As soon as we got there a guy collered us into looking at his collection of ... read more

So this morning we travelled from Hochimin to Bangkok, caught a taxi to the hostel which was on a very busy road. Khosan road. once we had checked in we go ourselves a beer and played some pool pretty cool on the top floor of a hostel looking down over the road with the hustel and bustle of dirty traders and cheap suits! 3 litre beer towers are always a good idea until you get to the end of it and another one appears. got chatting to some people and just let the night pass away. first impressions of Bangkok arn't as good as i expected them to be. It seems to be full of people who just want to party as nobody seems to have done any actual cultural stuff its a bit strange really. ... read more
