clothes hanging the plumbing situation and the "electric mishap" both are reminiscent of experiences I had in England! We miss you at Central Pres. Had a wonderful Montreat Retreat, but not as wonderful as the experiences you are having. I seriously doubt that I will come visit, but reading your blog is the next best thing!

atl coffin house hello HI Susan,
I'm very impressed with your matter of fact style, details of daily life, settling in and Food. It's highly informative, and I hope you do continue.
I'm also impressed with the photos, the map, the makeup of the arrangement and so forth. It's quite advanced, by my standards of email, and hope to learn a similar level of excellence in communicating by email.
I'm writing from the Coffin's on Labor Day, having stopped by, and invited to coffee and breakfast, and the normal Coffin routine of new remodeling process, (back windows, sliding, new insulation), new art by Stephanie, (Asian longhorn beetle mural on her just below roof), and complaints about corruption, incompetence, and so forth by management of governments and universities.
It's relatively cool here, and if you get the ssoc email, you can see the INCREDIBLE PHOTOS AND EVEN MUSIC of Atlanta circa 1970,
Atlanta pop fest and photos. howard
Gallbladder? I want to see you're whole place. I hope your gallbladder's okay and that it was just some kind of anomalous shadow. Will they provide your healthcare? I never even thought of that. I've downloaded "skype", now I just have to have have the courage to go on. I'm glad the pay is decent. Did they load you down with too many class hours because you're new? And how are you sleeping now?
What a great read! I wonder if the gelatinous strip is some sort of sea creature - eel or squid?? Again, you're stories make me hungry! Glad to hear you're accomplishing so much...
Wow! again You have accomplished a lot in just a week! Hope you keep settling in nicely. I will look at that Skype thing next time I am on ebay. Good luck with your first day of teaching, they are going to love you! Carla
Absolutely cool! So great to read all about your arrival. I'm having 2nd thoughts about a hair dryer! It sounds like a beautiful place. Amanda and I are coming! I'll email details.
Wow! How exciting! China sounds wonderful - I told you the food would be good! It seems that the locals are treating you well, and that your accomodations will be good. I'm glad you're doing well. Thinking about you - and so proud of you - love, April =)
just the beginning Hi...You made it! It's just the beginning of a wonderful period of your life! My friend Josephine just returned from a 2-week teaching stint there and she is still amazed at how wonderful her experience was. I will find out of the University of Buffalo tie-in is in your area. Enjoy!
Love,
Ann K.
Wow! I am so excited for you! China! Please update us as often as you can. Your trip so far has been fun for me to read, but I am really excited to hear about China. I missed you this weekend. We had the summer shade festival in Grant Park and I know I would have seen you there. But getting home and hearing you are there makes me really happy for you! Hugs and kisses (what do they say in China?) to you and we miss you, Carla
farewell for now I know your Chinese is nil! You looked blankly at me when I said wo ai ni and zai gien (pinyan is not too good, but April will understand and so will Linell) !
Have a GREAT time!
I miss you already as I drive by your house and think, I cannot just call Susie.
We'll be looking for your next Blog Report.

I retired. I’m almost 80 now and have some old age problems. I do small amounts of traveling still.
Last summer I went to Hawaii with my sons and grandchildren. I still love to go camping although I do not have an RV anymore. I moved from Atlanta to Washington DC to be near family. I have been here seven years now. I will try to keep this blog up-to-date.
During the Covid pandemic I sat around too much and got fat and sassy so I’m now on a fasting diet. Maybe you’d want to know how that goes too.
I will stay in touch.
