Hi Bloggers, I'm doing surfing. I was thefirst one standing up too. It was aweome. Having a nice time in Oz. Its very hot on some days butsome days it rains. I got sunburnt a couple of times but before we talk about that lets go back to surfing. When I was surfing the waves started to grow bigger and I fell off underneath. The group of people who did the surfing were children of Family 5 and the 'B' Team. While we were doing surfing some of us sat out but I carried on until the end. Later that day I got sunburnt and it was quite bad. The next day I couldnt walk propery because it was where I bend my legs. It was all crinkly and it hurt and wasnt very nice. Its ... read more

Well what else do you do on Christmas Eve? Fatty and Fiendish went for a scuba leson and then decended into the aquarium on the shark side of the tank with us girls (plus Batter) all watching from the safety of the moving carpet! They both enjoyed it but something must have spooked Fiendish from the look of his hair!. The bonus was that they both came out with a shark's tooth each - found on the floor you understand and not wrestled from the circling sharks themselves! Christmas day itself was a calmer affair with not a live predator in sight - unles you count the dog Shumba! The kids managed to stay away from their presents until 6.30 which was still too early for Fiendish but the majority won! There was general relief that ... read more

Well we were certainly glad to get to Oz and feel the sun on our faces. The weather since we got here (although rainy at times) has been warm and generally sunny - we have been on the beach and got a little sun burn. Bring it on!For those of you who have noticed that our photos show us wearing less and less clothing here you see another layer bites the dust. The flight was ok - for a 14 hour session in a little tube flying high overnight sat next to Fiendish. Me and the girls continued to jangle through LA where we had a great meal and meet up with Tony and then onto Brisbane where we q'ed for 2 hours to get through immigration and customs. Finally we made it out and we ... read more

We have spent a long weekend here en route to Oz. We arrived here from Vancouver on Thursday. The girls and I are suffering some withdrawal symptoms from not having any festive decorations around us so we have decorated our backpacks. THey make a nice jingling noise too when we walk! Some would say annoying but we have received generally positive comments so far! Part of the porblem this weekend has been trying to stop Fatty singing - aka Salzburg when one of our 'friends' would not stop trying to emulate Julie Andrews Fatty has had the same problem with a stuck needle on 'Da de Da de Da .. to San Fran.n.nsisco' (and something else about flowers in your hair) so much so that Fiendish and Flirty refused to go into a restaurant unless he ... read more

hi bloggers i'm in the U.S two days ago i went to see Alcatraz. Alcatraz is a dungeon in the midle of the sea. three inmates tride to get out of Alcatraz but havent been found. They were two brothers and a nother man. At night they got some spoons and used the handle to dig away at the rock and made a hole big enought for them all to get away at theback of their cells. They had organised a band so noone could here them. When they climbed through the hole they made their way climbing on the pipes to the top of the roof and scaled down. They had a raft at the bottom. So nobaody noticed that they had gone they made faces of themselves with real hair and put them in ... read more

We have been spending out last few days in Canada doing a few touristy things, spending time with friends (the Millards have really put themselves out for us) and revisiting the snowboarding slopes (not me you understand - my back is still poorly you see!). Also what a relief to warm up to a pleasant minus 2! Bring on the sun in Oz I say! On Saturday we had a relaxing day in Squamish. We had a walk along the river again and saw more eagles and their victims (several dead and decaying fish). The kids enjoyed making dams and getting their feet wet and also the thin sheet ice that we found proved too much to resist and so several sheets found their way onto several heads! We also visited the Capilano Suspension bridge - ... read more

We went up to the rope bridges at Capilano Suspension Bridge and the first one started to swing a little. I thought it should be more wobbly. And then we went on another one and it wasnt as still as the first one. My mum and Fiendish were behind me Flirty and Fatty. We were very high up. I didnt find it too scary up there because they wouldnt have put it there if it was not safe. When we were on the bridge there were some girls who screamed - they found it scary. We went to the gift shop on the way back and Flirty and Freaky went on a different walk that the rest of us missed. I bought some stones. Another day we were walking by the river in Squamish and we ... read more

Well we were wrong - we went on at length about the temperatures in the Rockies and how we had never been so cold - well this week we have averaged minus 30 and down to -34 in the mornings - we found that seriously cold and icy enough to turn any exposed body part seriously blue very quickly! However, undeterred and Balaclavas to the ready we ventured out to see yet more lakes - this time with no chance of breaking ice. We were given a demo of the techniques used for ice fishing - it was too cold for us all to stand around and do the real thing - well would you have done? The ice on the lake was over a foot thick and apparently gets to 3 times that depth by ... read more
