The CN tower is the tallest tower built so far in the world. It wil soon be the second tallest tower. Inside the CN tower there is a glass floor. you can look down the glass floor and see the bottom of the ground. The glass will only break if 14 hippos jump on it at the same time. In the sky pod there are some telescpoes that swerve around. If you look through them you can see the whole city. You need to put money in them to make them work. At our friends house they have a massive forest. In the forest we saw a deer walking across the forest floor. We tried to take photos but it was too camaflaged. I am having a great time in Canada but it is very cold. ... read more

We spent Sunday looking around Toronto. We like the city - it is compact and the buildings are interesting. The skyline is dominated by the CN tower which WAS the tallest building in the world until the new one in Dubai took over earlier this year. We walked through the undergorund walkways constructed so that it is not necessary to go outside in the cold - there is a complete shops/walkway/restaurant area under the city. The CN tower was worth going up. We were wondering whether it would be but the day was really clear and we could see for miles. The local topography was really visible from the tower - a very flat plain area with the city spead out in a clear grid format - lots of very long stright roads. We are a ... read more

Well we finally left late on Wednesday and managed to get to the hotel ok and drop off the car with no probs. The flight over went well - especially for Fatty who's seat was broken (or did he break it) and had to be relocated in the plane. For the discomfort of not sitting with his family he was plied with champers for a goodly part of the trip. We have been staying with friends in Toronto who have made us feel very welcome. The kids were particuarly excited when they woke up yesterday to a smattering of snow and the girls immediately went out to throw snowballs. Yesterday we visited Niagara - it really is stunning to stand and watch all that water flowing. However the area around it is not of the same ... read more
