My boring life!
Hi Chloe, my life is just way too boring in comparison to yours! A weekend at the farm and farewell party at Noonamena is very tame, but I must say our food appeals to me much more than what you have been eating. I don't think I could ever try those 'delicacies'! I wonder how Jarrad felt on reading your latest blog??? I have marking to do for school and French homework to do, so I will keep this blog entry brief. Have a great week at school and I hope you don't miss your new friends too much. Much love, Mum.

Good boy!
What a good boy you are Vegemite. I am glad you are having fun at the farm. Don't let those grandparents spoil you to much! It made me laugh and cry reading your email. I loved it. xxxxx

That's my girl!
Hi Chloe, the photos are fabulous! As Marian said, keep them coming! And as dad said, it is wonderful to have such frequent and immediate contact with you. He has gone back to the shed with his faithful companion, Vegemite, while Trailer has decided he is too tired to traipse up to the shed again. Dad sends his love.... we had a good laugh at the photo of you on top of the esky. That's my girl! Carpe Diem! I had those lychee cocktails in Vietnam and Bali and I love them too. I hope you are fully recovered by the end of the wekend. Did you do the walking tour? Tell all. I love you sweetheart. Mum.

Huffing and puffing all weekend
Hello mummy, I am at Stronsay with the grandparents. I was such a good boy on the trip here.... I sat in my plastic bed most of the way and when we stopped at Brookton, I didn't even go in the water!! How restrained and well behaved is that?! Today I went to town on the back of the ute and sat in the shade while the grandparents had a delicious and fairly prompt coffee at the Mallee Shed. On our way home, we visited Blue who hadn't been well but who is now on the mend. By the way, I jumped up onto the tray all by myself, over the edge and all!!! I didn't get out of the ute with Trailer when we arrived at the front gate. I sometimes wonder if I should join him for the run to the house, but I have to look after my feet. They are a bit delicate, as you know. I have shadowed Colin all afternoon, at his heels constantly from shed to house and back again. I am really looking after him well. We visited the chooks too and there are lots of good smells there but not as many eggs as usual.... everythnig is very dry here and no rain in sight. The grandparents were saying something about a lot of alcohol you consumed but I can't imagine my mummy doing anything too bad, so I'll ignore that. Peanut is with me at Stronsay but I have been so busy I haven't given him/her much attention. I still have your t-shirt in my bed and haven't forgotten your smell or that you love me. Tomorrow I am going back to Perth with Mobow and either Monday or Tuesday going back to Mia's house. Like you, I am quite the jet setter.... travelling all over the place! Much love, Vegemite.

Hi Chloe. What an interesting journal entry. I wondered when you'd tire of those little kids. I couldn't stand being anywhhere near the Mindy or prep st schoo come to think of it even grade one and two gave me the creeps. Much better with older kiddies. When I get home I will look for some sites for you. Your meals look good enough to eat and your carrot grating skills are amazing. Your mum taught you well. I'm impressed with your living conditions and can see I worried for nothing. Hope this continues. Have fun young Chloe and keep writing. Love lots carolxx

So here is small supply of songs to sing next time you a with the little munckins. If you don't know all the words to them, I'm sure you can google the title or part of the lyrics and find out the rest...but I'm sure you will know most of them, the titles will jog your memory. 1 little, 2 little, 3 three little indians etc up to 10 Where is thumbkin? (With fingers) Wind the Bobbin up (has actions) 12345 once I caught a fish alive open shut them 2 little dickie birds sitting on a wall (finger rhyme) Head, shoulders, knees and toes Tony Chestnut Twinkle Twinkle Baa Baa black sheep Jack and Jill Humpty Dumpty ABC Alison's camel has 1 (2, 3, 4 etc) hump The ants go marching Hopefully that makes a change from good Old Macca and the like xx

Go sticker girl!
Hi Chloe, It is so good to get all your info. I love reading what you have been up to. What a shame the post is so unreliable, otherwise I would send some cds of songs for those little ones! They are exhausting aren't they? That's why I don't teach in lower primary anymore. I had dinner with Mia and Jarrad on Sunday. Vege was very happy to see me, but, a sign that he is happy there is that he did not even get off the couch to say goodbye when I left!!! Mia was planning to come to Sorrento on Thursday so she could talk to you too, so let's hope it works!!! All the food sounds delicious and how good that alcohol is cheap, by our standards. That day by the pool sounded like fun too. My class is at art now, but I have to put up a display in the office, so I had better finish. I love you Chloe. Can't wait to speak to you. Mum.

local lingo
Hi darling, I see you are already learning a few words of the local language. It seems you are doing lots with the other volunteers, which is great... I would hate to think you were lonely. Is there anyone close to you in age? I hope the fundraising day goes well. Is Cambodia on the same time frame as Australia, as we thought? You also mentioned going to Siem Reap around your birthday, on the 'long weekend'. How come it is a long weekend in Cambodia? Was the local market like the one we went to in Vietnam? Sorry to ask so many questions, but I want to get as much info from you as possible, so I can better understand what you are doing and what life is like for you. I am off to Soda Sunlounge in a little while for coffee with Felicity and Susana. Had a great night last night with Joan and Chris etc at Winthrop Hall. The music and dance was spectaular.... the program entitled 'Out of Africa'... songs, dance and drums from a variety of African countries. I am loving having a weekend at home with only a few social outings. I have ironed, read and done a bit of french homework. Went to the gym on Friday and washed my filtyhy car. Used the treadmill yesterday and will again later today. Have a school function which I will go to for an hour from about 4.30 onwards - it is a picninc day for families and David asked us to drop in if we could, but no obligation to do so. Love your blogs. They could never be boring. Keep them coming. Do you think the clothes you brought are sufficient, of the right kind etc? Love you HEAPS. Mum
