Take me! me! Just caught up with you again. The photos are first class. Glad you went to Barcelona on the train and did the "tourist trail". When you go back, I'd love to come with you. It's been at the top of my list for years. You're probably not looking forward to "kipping down" in Myrtle again in the cold and I'm so disappointed for you that the weather has changed to proper "winter". Hope all goes well on your return. Drive carefully and take care. Thinking of you. XXX
sunny weather all that sun and in tee shirts I am here with two jumpers on and heating on and 100 mph winds. in the green and pleasant land (England) looks very nice views.just having a cuppa, Bye for now enjoy yourselves. Mum.
Blighty is b*****y cold according to Carol Since we last saw you in Sintra there has been very little rain. The temperatures in the Algarve have been quite balmy and the 10 day forecast through to New Year is sunshine all the way. Carol has been in UK 3 weeks now and is coming back early Jan. I am parked up near Albufeira, mains hook-up, water point/dump, Wi-fi all for five bucks a night. long beaches and good cycling terain.
Have a good xmas you two and who knows we may bump into you again an excuse for another little tipple.
Arnold
catching up Just got up to date with your journey. Reminds us of our trip to the Costa Verde and the Picos de Europa and the weather more reminiscent of the coast at Peacehaven. We have our own pictures of waves and sunsets. No mountains though. Too many 20k walks though and you'll have legs like tree-trunks! Hope the weather improves for you soon. Don't run out of chocolate. Adios, Adieu, Bye Bye.
Ola! The walk in Cares Gorge looked amazing!
Hope the weather improves now you're in Portugal.
As for Portuguese - I happen to have a phrasebook so for the most essential phrases see below:
Glass of wine please: En queria um copa de vinho rose, por favor?
(or uma garrafa - bottle);
Where's the bar: Onde e que ha um bar?
This is hitting the spot: Esta a saber-me mesmo bem!
I'm feeling drunk: Estou a sentir-me bebada.
I feel ill: Sinto-me mal.
Hope this is useful (apart from the last one - hopefully you wont be needing that).
Love Cass and your mum and dad (who are here for dinner send their love)
catching up hi. catching up with you. we never got to see the amphitheatre in Nimes so it is lovely to see the pic. we "did" the Pont du Gard - right up to the top, Can't remember where we stayed but it will be in my hand-written journal. no computers then, though! glad to see you went onto the bridge at Avignon. where on earth did you park? all the pix are first class.
Good to see the blogs are back ! I was getting a bit concerned when you hadn't posted anything for over a month but glad that everything is ok and you're still seeing lots of interesting places.
sight seeing back on your adventure again, stunning photos hope weather is good to you. have you got your locks fitted and restocked your fridge. bye for now enjoy. Mum.
Hi Wendy & Phil It all looks fascinating, a great mixture of experiences. What a pain the breakin must have been. Still the weather is good, the ice cream looks delicious and there are so many amazing places to see, Have fun xxx
photos good photo's I thought all Ferraris were red. Wendy enjoying ice cream, Phil does not look pink. glad you could repair damage to van. are you insured for theft? Bye for now. rained here for 3 days now and more to come good for crops but now outdoor activity's.
Italian Lakes Hello both. A bit sad your visit to the lakes has not turned out to be a "wow"! Think your last comment about arriving by coach/plane and using the lake steamers is so true from the accounts we've heard from everyone. Hope the next stops prove more interesting. Thinking of you. Love 'n hugs. XXX
P.S. I'm sure Phil did get down the slope super-fast but I bet he needed "bum" rub afterwards, to restore the circulation!
You were warned! I'm sure I warned you about the south end of Lake Garda - theme parks and tourists. Your experiences driving in Italy match our own - there's hardly ever even a layby to stop for lunch. So unlike France, where layby lunching is virtually an art form! I hope your planned cultural visits are less disappointing!
