12th December
On to visit Granada and the Alhambra, which is allegedly the most visited monument in Spain. We did find it interesting but after everyone had said how amazing it was, we found it a bit of an anti-climax.
We had a pleasant couple of days south of Almeria but then we moved further North and found acres and acres of polythene greenhouses.
Until now, much of Spain has been endless miles of cork and olive trees and rice fields. I have to admit that I am not enjoying the plastic and concrete of the Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca.
Anyway I am off to Old Blighty tomorrow and leaving Phil to fend for himself a bit, (poor little lamb) I am sure he will enjoy the peace and quiet! I might even bring him back some Christmas goodies!

Blighty is b*****y cold according to Carol
Since we last saw you in Sintra there has been very little rain. The temperatures in the Algarve have been quite balmy and the 10 day forecast through to New Year is sunshine all the way. Carol has been in UK 3 weeks now and is coming back early Jan. I am parked up near Albufeira, mains hook-up, water point/dump, Wi-fi all for five bucks a night. long beaches and good cycling terain. Have a good xmas you two and who knows we may bump into you again an excuse for another little tipple. Arnold
