Human life lasts but an instant. One should spend it doing what one pleases. In this world fleeting as a dream, to live in misery doing only what one dislikes is foolishness!!

I arrived from Cadiz around 1330 on Thursday afternoon and decided to get out amongst the town right away. The heat was impressive, it was nearly 100F when I arrived, hot hot hot!! I grabbed a map after getting settled into my room, which was nice and air conditioned, and headed out onto the city. I wasn’t really sure exactly where I was going or what I was going to do so I just started walking, vaguely consulting the map. I saw some cool churches as well as the corrida, where they have the bullfights. I walked a little more and saw the famous grand cathedral as well as the Plaza Espana which was pretty impressive. I got a few gifts in a couple random shops and about two hours after I set out on my ... read more

So I went to the beach in the morning after getting a solid night’s sleep for the first time in a long while. I finally didn’t wake up hungover which was a great thing hahaha. The beach was really nice; although it was a little dirty I was just happy to see how blue the water was and how white the sand was. I stayed there for a little over an hour and then walked around the city for a while exploring some things I hadn’t seen. It’s a very clean city, everything is white washed and it’s also very dry as you’d expect. I don’t get the feeling that it rains here all that often. I made my way to the train station and bought my ticket out of here on Thursday morning to Sevilla. ... read more

So I arrived in Granada from Madrid around 1700 and was surprised how hot it was. This after everyone told me it was going to be blazing fucking hot however I still was caught off guard, it’s the hottest heat I have felt in a long time that is for sure. I got to the hostel; it was pretty chill and very clean and well run. A guy named Mike who works there at the bar gives walking tours and I decided I would go on the one he was having Saturday. I wasn’t tired when I arrived so I immediately went out on the town and checked out some sights. The town reminded me of something you’d see from Northern Africa, granted I have never been to North Africa but we’ve all watched the Discovery ... read more

I left Buenos Aires after a three day delay because of the ash from the volcano in Chile. It was nice to finally get on the road again but I didn’t want to leave. Buenos Aires is like my home now and I find myself here in Madrid a little homesick, but not for the USA, for Argentina and Buenos Aires!!! I made a lot of good friends and there are a lot of very special people to me in BA and I really really want to go back!! But anyways, I had to stop in Colombia to get my flight to Madrid, so I stopped in Bogota and then in Cali. Even from the airport I could tell that Colombia is somewhere I want to visit one day. It was warm and the people I ... read more

So it’s been a really long time since I have written in my journal and I only have myself to blame for that. I was pretty caught up with work and just hanging out that I didn’t really feel like writing because nothing much new was happening. I basically worked my last month here which was really great, and am looking forward to going to Spain. The people at CHRW Argentina really made me feel like part of the team and part of a family. We would always go out for lunch to some really Argentine place for either pizza or empanadas or steak, oh the steak. They had a sendoff dinner for me at a place called O Charly’s and it was some delicious parilla. Most of all the employees were there which was great ... read more

So it’s been nine days since I last wrote and a ton has happened since then!!! So I got back from Paraguay and got all set to go to work on Monday the 1st of June however I received an email from my new boss that I wouldn’t be able to start until June 6th because the guy I am reporting to, Julian, who is a hell of a guy by the way, was on vacation. So that left me a week to dick around some more in BA and hang out with ABC (Aaron Berry Cook for those of you who haven’t been keeping up). So Monday I got back here and checked into my new hostel, had to leave the madness of the Milhouse because honestly it was killing me slowly. The new hostel ... read more

Saturday night after the soccer game we went out to a bar called Killkenny. We decided to walk and it took us about an hour but it was well worth it, we got to see a lot of the city that we hadn’t as of yet and it was really cool. The bar was an Irish place that reminded us both of Novi and Gus O’Connor’s. The whole setup of where the place was located looked like Novi and the fact that it was an Irish place in the middle of Asunción was kind of funny. They showed two movies in the bar, Unstoppable and Hall Pass. Both of which I had never seen, nor had I ever been privy to watching a full movie uncut in a bar before, I was talking to some girls ... read more

Last night we went out for a while to get some dinner with Richie, Lauren, Kevin, Brett, and myself. We went to a place called Lido Bar which was pretty solid food, I had a hamburger and fries which was probably the best hamburger I have had in South America since I have been here. It was chilly at dinner! We were all bundled up and this was definitely not what Asuncion was supposed to be like! I thought it was hot here. We went back to the hostel so we could get some more warm clothes on and so Kevin could grab some more money and then we set off for a bar a few blocks away called 904 which was supposed to have 2 for 1 beer however they did not, the promotion had ... read more

Last night we got hammered at the hostel. We made dinner, a large helping of rib eye steak which Brett grilled up on the parilla and Andrea made a lovely salad full of veggies and a fruit salad for dinner. It was one of the most well balanced meals I have had in a while, however all the healthiness of it got cancelled out by what happened afterwards…We drank probably 8 bottles of wine between four of us, me Brett, an Aussie guy named Peter that we met and our Swiss friend Andrea. We also smoked a ton of cigarettes! God it was so bad, but it was a fun time. We woke up hungover as all hell and of course today would be the day we really need to have our heads on a swivel ... read more

We caught the bus from Buenos Aires to Puerto Iguazu at 18.15 and the bus ride wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t the best we’ve had either. The food was scant, the legroom was minimal and the sound quality on the movies was subpar. I took a Xanax and passed out promptly after dinner but the sleep was restless and my dreams were scattered. Normally on the bus there are men in uniforms that serve the food and attend to your needs however these guys were basically just dudes in jeans and t-shirts that gave us food and didn’t offer blankets or pillows, pretty dodgy if you ask me. We made it here to Iguazu and it’s a small town, the weather is hot and the ground is covered with red clay, everywhere even on the pavement. ... read more
