My wife (Prudy) and I joined with my brother (John) and his wife (Fran) on a trip to Lake Tahoe earlier this month. Normally we would take our motorcycles on a trip like this but weather is always a factor this time of year around Lake Tahoe so we traveled in John's 4-door F-150 pickup. Of course, as it turned out we could have taken the motorcycles because the weather was great except for one morning when it rained for a couple of hours. None of us had ever been to Lake Tahoe so we were excited about the trip. John and Fran are members of Diamond Resorts, Int'l and we went as guests. First off, let me make a correction to last nights post. Peyton now has 509 touchdown passes not 510. I felt that it was important to mention. As usual, we got off to a later start than we had planned but still made it to Santa Rosa, NM before 3:00 PM. We are staying in the same Holiday Inn Express hotel and the same room that we stayed in on the trip out. We have the same TV that we had to call the desk attendant to reprogram last time (and this time). I'm sitting in the same telescoping desk chair that slowly lowers so that I'm typing with my hands at about eye level........(Hold on a sec while I raise my chair)...........that's better... and Prudy has to put a wash cloth down the drain hole ... read more

The sun came up and there it was, a nice Oklahoma sunrise. We arrived in Ada yesterday afternoon around 3 PM and checked into the brand new Hampton Inn. We normally stay at the Holiday Inn Express across the street but thought we would try something new. It is a very nice looking hotel and is set up differently than most hotels. It has a huge breakfast dining room and the decor is retro. The food they serve is pretty much the same as you would get at any other hotel. I mean, how many ways can you do breakfast? Brother John, and his wife Fran, stopped by dad's place and brought him over to the hotel for breakfast. Dad looked great and was full of energy for someone 94 years old.
