Habsburg Empire

I find myself with some time off from my consulting work, so I have decided to take advantage of the downtime by visiting my friend in Nuremberg who is working for the US Gov there. I will then travel to Prague, Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, Salzburg, Munich, and several cities in Croatia (and might venture into Montenegro). My friend will meet up with me a few times during the trip.
I kind of like the idea of Eastern Europe and I always wanted to visit these areas after the fall of Eastern Bloc Communism. I think maybe the timing is right as these countries are doing well being part of the EU, but still less traveled (I think) than there Western counterparts.
I won't get as far in as I would like since I only have a month, so I decided to get a theme of the Hapsburg empire. I was studying a bit of the Austro-Hungarian empire and how powerful it was till its fall after WWI. I think seeing several portions of it in the same trip may give me a feel for that era.
Oh, by the way, for the dozen or so people that will actually look at this blog, I won't be offended if you just look at the pictures.
