Thanks ^^
I'm glad you like the blog, that makes it in turn more fun to write, so yey more win for the both of us ;)
And no i didnt kidnap any of the monkeys, i'm afraid i dont have any spare space in my pack at the moment, if anything i am thinking of leaving some stuff behind(but i cant think of anything which i might not really need).
Well, thanks again and best of luck,
Pieje.
Wish you all the best! Hi, well you don't know me, and i don't know you..(but that not really matter, right?)
My mum told me to pass by on your blog. I have to agree, she was right..
ofcourse i started by the start as we supose to do so..
I have to admit, you made it really intressting to read.. even more better than the books you can find in the store here.. ;-)
Luckely you didn't had that much difficulty's yet..and hopefully you also won't get any,hehe..
I just was wondering if your backpack didn't became heavier by now? (in case you kidnapped the little monkey there or any other of them :-p,btw just joking,he..)
Enjoy your trip and the spanish classes..

Anonymous One thing I wish to get straight. Yesterday I sent a message under my own name. Afterwards I
noticed that my name did not appear as sender but anonymous. Clearly this is a mistake in
the travelblog system. But this makes me thinking. André, I am now wondering whether you
sent your posting of the 25 April anonymously or not ? If not, I must offer you my apologies,
because I had a suspicion against you. I thought you were trying to pull our leg. To fool around.
If this is the case I am truly sorry. Please straighten out things. Thanks
Physically the hardest thing you ever did thanks for your honest report admitting that you have been clumsy with your camera. So what ?
I have been clumsy all my life. There is nothing to be annoyed about Pedro. You are not alone
in "clumsy land". It would appear that in San Pedro and in the neighbourhood, you will find enough
interesting sites to visit. Even when being a student you can remain a traveller. Nice. I am one
of your readers(admirers dad)who didn't notice that you had repaired your camera.Another girl
in the " casa " invited you to accompany her visiting the highest volcano in the region. I think she
is also a student and perhaps traveller. Did you or do you try to speak with her Spanish? You should try to do this whenever you can. You say that when you were at the entrance of the volcano
you were already out of breath. Is that telling us something about your physical condition or was it
really so extraordinary ? When describing your suffering during the climb, you didn't tell us
anything about the suffering of the others. Was that girl in front of you ? Was she behind ? Were
you together with the bunch ? Let's be positive. You were in front despite your exhaustive condition and despite your dry throat. I can imagine when being thirsty, it is one of the worst
things which can happen to an human being. Luckily after all that inhuman stuff, there was
"la madre de la casa" who waited with her meal and conquered your heart with those homemade
papas fritas con pollo(kip) and homemade lemonade. Yes dad, I don't know what you think, but
I wouldn't mind to have been at that table in San Pedro La Laguna. By the way are you doing
the dishes together with la madre? Ideal opportunity to improve your Spanish. Are you aware
that you are living a fascinating life ? Enjoy and be a good student. Hasta otra/Tot een volgende
keer.
Que tengas suerte con su curso/Good luck with your course I have picked up my good old Spanish text-books in order to write you a few words in the Spanish language. No,it isn't my intention to start up again the study of this language.
gracias anticipadas.
felicidad con su decision Yesterday the system of the travelblog forum was changed and this made it impossible to reach you.
I assume you expected a lot of reactions after your unexpected decision, but as explained, we
couldn't get through. First of all congratulations with your decision. The more languages you speak
the more progress you can make in your contacts with other people. This knowledge of the
Spanish language may also help when you have a job where the knowledge of this
language is necessary. After I was retired I followed Spanish lessons during 5 years. 2 hours
a week.3 years ago I finished this. Unlike the English language, you have very little links
in Belgium with the Spanish language. No radio, no television, no newspapers. So Pedro
you will have to watch out. I lost a lot of my " Spanish". If you want to avoid that you will have to
look for means to keep up your " Spanish " at an acceptable level.
You are now following an intensive course and you will have no choice but to speak the whole
day nothing else than Spanish words with that family where you are staying. This is the best
possible way to learn fluent Spanish. There is one thing you must keep in mind. Try to speak
as much as you can and don't mind to make mistakes. I wish you all the best with it and after your return to Belgium we can perhaps try to have a nice conversation in Spanish. Your lessons
will take 4 to 6 weeks. Is this making a hole in your pocket ? And what about Katie ? Is she the
trigger ? I haven't forgotten that anonymous person. I had doubts about that person from the
beginning. Mystery man made two mistakes. First it was obvious that he was someone who
likes food like I do, secondly he knew exactly the difference in length. There are not so
many persons, who know that. So dad your try is much appreciated. But Pedro he is right when writing that the resemblance is not depending on length but on many other things. Anyhow it is
clear that he is proud that you are his son and I am sure that you are proud that he is your father.
Notwithstanding that for a while you will have no spectacular things to report, I do hope that from
time to time you will let us have some news. Perhaps this will help you to keep up your
entertaining narrative style, which, have I to say it again is much appreciated. I hope that soon you
will find some "amigos". Also a few pints of beer may help to improve your Spanish. And if you
find some nice girls on your way, don't be shy, start talking with all the words you know already
and you will see that it was worthwhile.
Pedro keep sending us a report now and then and we will arrange the feedback.
Espero recibir muchas noticias la semana que viene. Que te diviertas en San Pedro La Laguna.
Hay muchas bonitas chicas en San Pedro ? Claro que si. Pedro te deseo mucho exito.
Un bueno week-end.
Ok, mister anonymous(to bad for u as an administrator i can see the email addresses of people who post).
These kind of comments about food would indeed hurt me(verry much) if the food where i am now and have been so far wasnt as well equally fantastic.Untill now i have always had good to fantastic food(even in Cuba it was still good but just a bit monotone) and as i am heading to South America in a month or so where steak is just as common as beer is in belgium ... i have little regrets about not being able to bring belgian quisine along with me(although i admit i do miss it xo ).
And i will buy a new camera as soon as the opportunity arises, which will probably be the next time i pass trough guatemala city.
Groetjes aan Sabine ;P
Cheers, Peter.
Well i do try to do my best in making it atleast somewhat interesting as reading only objective statements would be ratter dull in the end i guess.
And actually i haven't bought a new camera yet, on my latest few trips i basically hassled some people who went on the same trip into letting me have the pictures they took :) i was friendly about it though.
Anonymyous Anonymyous, just for the fun. Are you a member of the family or just a friend ? In other words do I know you? By the way
if you are a member of the family, I wouldn't mind being invited by you to share that delicious meal to which you
are referring in your latest posting, and the piece of meat may be large. No problem at all .
Hi Peter,
The son who looks like his father... Must be a real shock to hear that on the other side of the world! But there is more then lenght in the world;-) I have googled pictures from Flores: seems a very beautiful island indeed. Happy easter to you and all your admirers on this blog. By the way: we did have another meal then what you were eating on the picture: roastbeef, peppersauce, croquettes and pears (yummy) Im looking forward to pictures on wich see you are eating some large piece of meat like you are used too... Or is this not for public comments? When and where are you going to buy another camera?

simple in its greatness.... You are in Guatemala now and you bought yourself a new camera. I must admit that it is difficult to grasp all the
beautiful things which you are finding on your way. You can describe them to perfection but I fear that we will not stand
in awe as you see these things with your own eyes. That phenomenal view above the forest, which gives the same sensation
as when you are viewing the ocean we cannot realize completely. We can let drift our imagination away but that standing in
admiration we cannot really feel. Again you were in Maya land and this time you climbed up wooden shaky stairs, which at first I didn't
discover when watching your pic. Peter again sincere congratulations on how you try to make us part of your daily journey.
A.o. you wrote ...big things tend to impress and simple in its greatness. I imagine that you wrote all that stuff before you started to drink those beers. Your narrative style continues to impress me and so many other readers of your travelblog, I imagine. As your
sister is suggesting, I am discovering someone I didn't know before. Go on surprising us Peter.
Oh... little brother!
This entry made me so emo and happy at the same time!
It's been so long since we've seen you and I must admit I might be starting to miss your teases, punches and annoying comments... But also... you write the same way you are: interesting, entertaining and funny... and I might possibly be missing that aswel!
Reading this entry... just also makes me happy to see you are so happy! As a big sis that means everything to me... Haven't known you to be this happy in years and years... and I'm just happy that you now finally are!
Keep it up Peter, but keep it safe aswell... and I'll try to keep our dad sane when you can't update us for a while again... ;-)
My holiday is almost finished... back to the real world... consider yourself lucky, lots of people envy you!
Live the life!
... for all of us that can't be there with you!
We do love and miss you a lot!
Hugs from your big (yeshyesh, 28yo) sister,
Annelies.
Well, the difference in budget needed between the way i have been travelling lately and for trips using tourist orientated transport only is immense and when using local transport indeed some patience is needed and it wont always be as comfortable as the usual airco coaches but it worked out so far and the worst that can happen is that i loose a day or so... which isnt much of a problem.
And about looking like my father .. i am not sure how to react to this one, a lot of things spook trough my head after reading such a thing(like shrinking 30cm) ;)
the advantage of being young Peter what struck me when reading your latest entry is your ability to adjust yourself to changing circumstances. I assume that it is easier for young people to adapt themselves.
Of course this needs also individual skill which I am lacking completely. No doubt elder people
will prefer a well-planned and well-timed organisation in order to avoid unpleasant surprises.
You have my full respect for the way you are travelling and for not being angry whenever
your planning isn't working. Another thing which is striking me, when admiring your pics, is
your resemblance to your father. You are just like him when he was younger. I also love to
see how you are dealing with the problem of keeping your expenditures within budget.
So we hope you will not be out of money when the end of your world tour is nearing.
Finally Irène and myself wish to join you in the congrats to your sister on the occasion of
her birthday. We hope you enjoyed your birthday very much Annelies. Have an happy
Easter weekend Peter and everyone.
Hi, yes Cuba did turn out to be different as the rest of the world in many ways.
Internet being one of them :)
But now im back on the mainland i will be able to keep the blog up to date again.
Happy easter to everyone back at home ;)
Easter wishes My dear friend, wherever you are, Irène and myself wish you a lot of fun on the occasion of the Easter festivities. The main thing
is that you are amusing yourself, that you are having a ball. That is all what matters. We fully understand that it isn't a piece of cake
to arrange your postings in Cuba. We will restrain ourselves somewhat more and discontinue our fishing for further news. First thing
first. Enjoy fully your adventure and if you have time keep us posted of all what you think may be of interest to us and not vice versa.
As we said already have a nice Easter weekend. Same wishes go to everyone who is reading this travelblog.
Where are you ? Somewhere lost in the jungle ? No internet facilities ? Returned to Vegas and all of the sudden got married ? Rescue us and tell us
what is happening. My nails are gone and Irène doesn't understand why I amn't eating anymore. Thanks for your comforting news.
HI PIEJE,
How are you now? Are you taking a good rest now, because we havent seen any new entrys lately, a little bit afraid to meet other baracudas? We wish you a good flight to cuba. Lorein father advice you to visit the valley of Vinales; seems to be wonderfull. He has been there too.
Greets,
Sabine and papa
were you just lucky, no jaws around? A refreshing dive in the company of two lovely girls ? A dream coming true? Very welcome, we imagine, after all that hot, hotter, hottest.
Such a relaxation is almost a trigger to stay a little bit longer in this most attractive area but no doubt you will realize that many other
pretty things are waiting and that therefore you should stick to your plan, although you assured everyone that you don't have a tight
schedule. Looking back to the beginning of your trip, it would appear that everything went smoothly. No real problems encountered.
Thus so far so good. We hope that meanwile you succeeded in buying a flight ticket for Cuba. So you are moving from tequila to
Cuba libre. Although never been there, we think Cuba is worthwhile visiting for many reasons. The regime in Cuba is not exactly the
same as ours but if you travel with an open mind, we feel sure that you will come accross " a new fascinating world". Only time to
watch all this will be very short. Wish you a nice weekend.
Amai! Ok, that really does look amazing! I enjoyed reading about your stay in Northern America but I must admit that now I'm even more interested! Southern America to me is a million times more beautiful!
The water, nature, mayan culture... oh god I want to be there!
So Cuba next... be carefull little brother!
And don't forget about sun protection!!!
Hola y muchas gracias Pedro Como estas hoy? Has disfrutado mucho ?
Thanks for your latest posting. Interesting info on your latest activities, nice pics and nice sub-headings of those pics.
You are now more alternating relaxation and the serious stuff and your pace is lessening. Being alone isn't easy, if you want to go out
for a swim. Where must you keep your belongings ? The ending of your message, leaves no doubt. You are really enjoying your stay.
The real world is far away. Keep this feeling all along and your world trip will be a success. Big hug from both of us.
Well u shouldnt worry about me continuing the blog, i will cover most off if not all meaningful events i go trough(those suitable for public anyway ;P )
But i think that u understand that when the heat reaches 40degrees celsius or higher writing a blog, which i have to do inside becoñes a whole lot less apealing :)
Well i never believed i needed familiar people around me all the time.
I admit that at times it would be nice to see a familiar face but most of the time i am fine by my lonesome self.
That and in hostels people tend to be awefully open for casual conversation, grouping up for going out to dinner or doing daytrips together. So one is rarely ever alone in the hostel world...
Actually today i did make up my mind as to where i am going next but i am not sure if i should tell u or keep it as a surprise :D
Ok ok, sunday i will travel to Tulum, for some nice beaches and a Mayan site, after which i will go to Cuba(hopefully as attaining a ticket to havana is not as easy while on the road on a limited budget) and after that i will fly to Flores, guatemala.(i will make side stops in cancun and belize city but wont visit those places).
Hi!
Most of u probably allready know, but for those of u who dont.
I am Peter Vanmuysen or Pieje if u prefer, 25years of age and born and raised in the great Kingdom of Belgium :)
