moneywise We wonder, dear globetrotter, whether those flights within the USA are relatively cheap,
or on the contrary rather expensive ? The Americans travel a lot. So inclined to believe rather
cheap but Americans are big spenders, so they say and therefore the tickets might well be
more costly as thought. We wonder with your current experience, whether you are able
to clarify? We hope you had again an unforgettable day. Warmest greetings. Irène and Jacques
Pirate of the Caribbean (!?) Hello there!
haha... Photo 13!! I see you're taking seriously your sis' advice (about facial expressions and stuff) :) good one!
and you know... seeing that pic with the ship on the background... makes me believe you should follow your dreams and become a pirate...! haha! you are very pirate-material, hmmm ok let's add a black hat with a white skull on it... an eyepatch, a pipe, and a parrot on your shoulder... and bingo - you can join Captain Jack Sparrow on his next movie! I mean... his next adventure! :)
other than that, I also liked a lot photos 11 and 12! Very nice places!
You serious you taking only THAT pack on a RTW trip!?? good lord, you should teach my wife... her luggage would be 4 times larger for... a 3 days trip! haha!! ... shoes... I know... yeah right!
well... have a nice stay at Vegas... and remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas (...or so I've been told haha!)... I meanm go easy on those casinos, don't spend too much coins on it, the House aaaalways win! (unless you are a part of Oceans Eleven.... or would it be 12? 13?... ah whatever!)
Greets,
-S.
Hoihoi!
Frisco Reading your today's report shows once again Pieje/Peter that you are overwhelmed by all those beautiful places, which you are
coming across. Sometimes it looks as if you cannot believe your own eyes. Your narrative style makes it possible for your readers
to follow your way of thinking, and this makes it most interesting to see how you decide to plan all your activities. So to-day(yesterday
in fact) you saw the famous Golden Gate Bridge and also(amongst others) Fishermans Wharf. In the past we saw many American films with those eye-catchers. What about Alcatraz(island before Frisco and those famous cable cars(kabeltram). So many things to select.
Quite a challenge, we would say. And now Las Vegas is waiting. Watch your money Pieje/Peter.Hug Irène and Jacques
Goe bezig peter u blog is af man.
Well, most of the places you names might not be too famous but most of them do host a wellknown monument of some sort;
xian - terracotta army
lhasa - potala palace
Foz - one of, if not the, most impressive waterfalls in the world
Agra - taj mahal
raglan - nothing really, if the weather is right i might learn to surf there :)(not everything needs to be serious and about culture)
Cairns - great barrier reef
Flores - is itself beautifully located and offers acces to Tikal
I never really found it hard since i just decided to go everywhere where i wanted to so ... its not like i had to leave anything out(besides egypt, jordan and moscow but who knows ... maybe some day )
time to shave Hi Pieje,
Every day i meet other people who wants to visit your blog. They are all very exited about the way you are travelling and reporting your daily adventures. But im afraid they will be scared when they see your face on the pictures... so we advice you to buy some rasermaterial !!! We wish you already a nice flight to the other side. Besides that we are very curious about that argentinian person you were telling about... Where is her picture?
Big hug,
sabine en papa
your choices Dear Peter,Pieje. Thanks for your today's reaction. Still doing well,we hope. If you don't mind, we have another question for you.
Most of the places you intend to visit are wellkown. However there are a few which are not, such as Xian, Lhasa, Foz do Iguaca,
Agra, Raglan, Cairns and Flores. What is the critirion for your choices ? Nature/culture/religion/people? We think, it must not have
been easy to choose a particular place instead of another? As you know we are both retired. This makes it possible to follow your
adventure with more than common interest, but other readers of this travel blog may be interested in this info, as well. And now
Frisco.Warmest greetings Irène and Jacques
The District! Hi there Peter,
As all your previous entries, a very nice report + beautiful pics. Feels like we' traveling with you!
DC looks amazing. I got some interest on it since I finished reading The Lost Symbol, by Dan Brown. I definitly will be going there very soon too :)
Take care, and have a nice and safe flight to S.Francisco.
-S.
I'm sure it's got a timed function! You can just place it somewhere (not too far so it won't be stolen) and then you've got more options :-D Ooooooor.... ask a cute girl to take the pic :-D
And the food... you are just eating junk food then! What about your veggies?!? (noooooooo, pickles and fried onion does NOT count!)
The pics look great Peter, don't worry about my silly comments ;-)
And have fun in San Fransisco! Can't wait to read about your next day!
Thanks, its nice to hear wrtiing it all is appreciated.
And well the thing is i dont have a schedule, i go where i please when i please.
I am currently doing everything rather fast paced because for every day i spend in the states i can spend 3 or 4 days in a less expensive place like mexico(money-wise offcourse).
heading for San Francisco Dear Peter/Pieje. We love reading your daily reports. They are most
entertaining and instructive. Thanks to your comments we can share
a little bit all the things you are discovering. It will be difficult to
memorize all your sight-seeing but most of it you will never forget,
we imagine. It strikes us also that you have a very tight schedule.
From time to time you will have to take breath. And now San Francisco.
Again a very nice place to visit. Wish you a lot of fun.Irene and Jacques
Yee those were pretty fun, took me close to half an hour to move on from them to the white house ... following me around, freezing still when i stare at em, looking funny when i use the zoom, climbing up&down trees .... ye i will surely miss them when i move to San Fran tomoro :)
Well the foor might just be a bit cheaper over here than in Europe and besides that they have more difference in diners in therms of budget.
So u can eat like a plate of pasta in a 'brasserie' type of place for ten dollars or so(7-8euros?) or u can eat a hotdog for a dollar fifty on the corner of a street(obviously u can go out for stake in a restaurant and pay more too if u want that) and dont forget when u go eat at a place where they serve the food at the tables, a 20% tip is normal.
Well i dont really see how i can change my stance when i am talking fotos of myself stretching my arm....
cute! Aaaawwwwww, cute squirls! I bet those were the highlight of your trip so far!
I noticed you go out for dinner a lot, would have thought you'd just buy some bread and make your own sandwiches. Which made me wonder: what are food prices like over there?
Another observation of mine: did you notice you always take the same pose when you make a picture, and have the same facial expression? You should try another experession every day and have us guessing which one it was! :-D
Loving the pics though, so proud of you!
Be safe!
unbelievable Hallo Pieje , fantastic the way you descrive your visit to NY . I really wished I was 30 years younger , I woudn't have hesitated to go with you . Now we have to live with your messages and photos , but ok the way you descibe and commment the places you visit , leaves us some roum for dreaming . Don't forget to visit Chinatown and little Italy , both exceptional litte towns in NY . Read you tomorrow. JM
took a bite hello Peter sincere congratulations with your amazing plan to see the world. We envy you
because when we were young and even now being much older we never had the courage
to undertake his kind of trip. Good plan to be flexible with your time( to spend more time
when you are feeling good and to leave when you have the feeling to have seen everything
you got to see. We promise to follow your travelblog on a daily basis. Enjoy yourself as
much as you can. Have fun and leave all bad feelings behind.Big hug from Irène and Jacques
