vaya con dios/ ga met de goden As requested yesterday, we got your full report on your latest adventures. Much appreciation again for making us feel part of your world tour. Must we repeat ourselves? Again enjoyed reading your experiences. Great writing. Great narrative style. Great vocabulary.
You make us dream with that hammock at the pool. In your report we find interesting info on cultural aspects( the Maya people),
the urban aspect( one million inhabitants, who apparently live in a small area in small houses), activities in the company of other
nice people and how you have to prepare a delicious steak meal. We were also amused when you wrote something like this:
adventure was what I wanted...so not allowed to worry. Peter travelling alone has advantages and disadvantages. How are going on
with this situation? Can you cope with being alone ? Or would you have preferred to travel together with someone else ?
Finally it would appear that you have not yet made up your mind. What are you going to do next. Are you going to visit Fidel
in Havanna or are you heading for Belize ? Another thing. Good decision, we think, to avoid Mexico City. As you said, more than
10 million inhabitants! Unless you like busy and crowded streets, but we think this isn't the case. Have a nice weekend, Irène and
Jacques
Well, it is probably a mixture of those 3things you mentioned.
The past few days I have been pretty busy visiting the mayan sits of the region and when I arrive, after a day in the scorching heat, back in the hostel... the choice between pool/beach or little laptop is fairly easy too make ;)
But nevertheless today I didnt plan much so I will do my best to write a new entry.
Cheers,
P.
is each Mexican wearing a sombrero? Pedro mi amigo are you still alive and kicking ? Can't wait to hear from you all the latest news on your adventures. Are you so absorbed in what you are seeing that you can't find the time to get back to us? Or are you just sitting next to the swimming pool, drinking
your tequila or beer and watching all those lovely girls passing by. Though we would appreciate all this, we nevertheless can't conceal
that we are looking forward to hearing from you very soon. Irène and Jacques
PS Possible explanation which we forgot to mention are those unbearable high temperatures? Then you are just melting away?
Well between 'chillin at the pool'(or wherever) and checkin out the places where i am, i do have a bit of time left in general and internet is mostly easy enough to access so i do stay pretty much up to date on belgian news.
And yes, untill now commumication wasnt a problem. And now as most people dont speak english here finding the way is getting harder but still with some signals and effort i manage :)
Tomorow and the day after i am going to see some mayan sites and after that i will probably make another entry in the blog.
But for now the weather is too hot and the beer too cold to spend much time at the pc
Watch out for the tequila.
My knowledge of the Spanish language isn't what it should be. Therefore I am n't going to make myself ridiculous
Btw.Are you receiving general news from Belgium. For instance: we still have no government. The Belgian Football
team is in the winning mood. They won their 2 last matches. The weather gives us the feeling that spring is in the air.
Who is going to win the " Ronde van Vlaanderen ". Two big favourites: Cancellara(correctly written ?) or Tommeke.
Sunday we will know.
Meanwile we hope you did some further interesting sight-seeing. Perhaps it will be somewhat more difficult to talk to the
Mexicans than to the Americans ? But from what I know, the Mexicans are very eager to help you with whatever problem
that may arise.A very enthusiastic people, we believe. Soon we hope to hear from you about the contacts with the local
people. Thanks beforehand for your further reporting. Irène and Jacques
No romantic was far from it, it was more of a pure feeling of awe.
Since as u stated i felt rather small in the middle of the canyon.
A hostel is indeed a 'herberg', a cheap version of hotel and in general with communal dormitories.
Hmm i must admit i am a bit surprised by the 'succes' the blog has had until now.
But anyway it is currently way to hot to remain behind a pc for long so im gonna find myself a nice spot by the pool.
Greets from Merida, Yucatan Mexico.
Pieje.
Dizzy here! Stunning pics on the Canyon!
Congrats, we could have a good overall look in the US thru your eyes.
Too bad it's time to say bye-bye USA...

Welcome to Latin America... have fun... and don't forget your sun block!
INDIAN LAND Again a very nice and well written report. Congrats. Very entertaining style which makes the reading of your travel blog more than
attractive.Pieje/Peter this time nature is featuring. Those breath-taking views must have been sensational. This is real world not
virtual. Did you get that romantic feeling again ? Surely these views are unforgettable and make clear how small creatures we are,
compared to this wild world. This should make us humble. So the first part of your trip came to an end. And now it is Mexico's turn,
where temperatures are very high at the moment. Fortunately your pace is slowing down a bit. Nice to read also that besides
the travelling you have some laundry stuff to care about..So there is still something else than travelling. Before ending one small
question. What is the difference between an hostel and an hotel. In hostel you find the word host, but what does that exactly mean.
An hostel is that what we call :jeugdherberg ? Or something else ?
Finally in that Nevada desert, we hope you didn't kill an Indian, even by accident ? And another thing. Even someone who doesn't
know you, is now reading your postings. If this isn't good news. All the best. Irène and Jacques
Random Hello Peter!
You don't know me and I don't know you. Your post was displayed among other NY Travel Blogs and I've chosen it absolutely randomly.
So far it looks quite interesting. Keep up the good work and don't abandon posting to your blog, I have this page saved and will wait for updates.
Greetings from Czech Republic (though I'm not a Czech)!
oma Hallo Peter , we will come back later with a comment on your travel experiences . Your oma has read also your blog ( I had to translate ) and now she decided she wants to say also something to you . Personnally I am folowing your entries day by day and I find it fantastic. Continue to enjoy and to send us, poor people left back in an enoying country with our enoying life,, photos and descriptions of everything you see. Read you soon ;
Ow thats right i didnt say anything yet about if and when i plan to move on ... i guess u guys will just have to wait and see :)
Btw i went to see the Grand canyon today, it was great, ill make an entry about that tomorow probably as it is gettin later allready over here and u know what that means in vegas :P
unfinished story Dear Pieje/Peter. Is it your intention to include more suspense in your postings ? To finish your story in a mysterious way ?
Or move up the interest of your readers' platform ? Now your readers are wondering: will he stay longer in Vegas ore will he move on.
Your flexibility with your time schedule may prove to be very clever. Anxiously we are now waiting for your next posting.Don't wait
too long dear Pieje/Peter. Have a nice weekend. Irène and Jacques
from flower power to sin Have you been able to resist to all what is being said about Vegas ? Have you been able
to withstand the gambling ? If so you proved to be a traveller with character and
discipline and therefore fully deserve our respect. Perhaps it wasn't easy to pass all
these fancy coin suckers and other glitter stuff. But from what we heard in the family,
there is no doubt in our mind that you have not been overpowered. From here it looks as if
you have everything pretty much under control. Your plan is working out properly. This is good news, bearing in mind that you have still a long way to go. Have a great time.Irène and Jacques
Well ye obviously i saw and did more then i say on the blog(would make the blog perhaps a bit too long if i were to tell it all.).
So yes, i saw and rid on a cable cart, just for a short end though couse they are crowded and everytime they stop some guys circles it before leaving again to make sure everyone is on securely making it a slow and tedious journey(at least that is how i experienced it).
And alcatraz is located in the water at about 500meter or so from fishermans warf and thus clearly vissible .
I didnt visit it though since i only found negative reviews of alcatraz visits on the internet and didnt wanna spend 2hours and 20dollars(or more) on a trip if it probably isnt worth it.
I expericience it to be rather cheap, 160USD from DC to San fran for instance.
A flight relatively not that great of a deal shorter then brussels - ny which cost more then double.
But the prices go up and down immensly depending on when u travel(close to weekends prices just about double)
Sjiek Sjiek
En wat is van u site amoriemagditnietzien? Al veel gevonden.
Groetjes
