Sydney Suburbs
Hi Lynne I always get a laugh out of Beeny & Flopsy!! They have such great personalities. We wondered if you would see any of the floods on the way south. Hopefully the big rains are over now. Of Course Pavlova originated in New Zealand!! Every Kiwi knows that! Ha ha! Not sure if you are receiving my emails at the usual address? So...if it's any use, Intercity Coaches (www.intercity.co.nz) have got 5000 FREE seats on offer from now until April. I have found some of them. They seem to be not on Sundays but you might find something that you can use. Even if you book and don't use it, it costs nothing. Hope we can catch up with you in January. Love Jocelyn

Holiday disaster
Well, sounds like you are continuing to have great fun. Unfortunately, we didn't get to the Caribbean as Gatwick decided to close the day we were supposed to fly, re-scheduled to Thursday but remained closed then took the decision not to re-schedule again and cancelled the flight so holiday over!! We are going on the 19th Jan now but have managed to get a cheapy to Morocco for a week, leaving tomorrow, to cheer ourselves up!! Will write again when back, much love xxx

Look out NZ she is getting closer.
hi Lynne we are enjoying once again your travel blog. Things are great down under, we are having fantastic weather and it looks like it is going to go on for sometime. Looking forward to seeing you in the new year. We are heading to Christchurch for Christmas to have it with our son Wayne and his wife. They are still having after shocks from the big earth quake. You will notice a big difference with NZ in the summer compared with the winter when you were here last time. No night walks to look at the southern skys as it is still day light at 10.30pm. Keep having fun. Cheers Ross

Safe journey to Sydney have a fabulous time. Will be thinking of you as we snugle up in your lovely big bed on Friday hope S & G leave the leccy blanket on it. Looking forwad to seeing everyone back in UK starting with a meal out with Chris & Anabel Fday pm. Ordered a leccy blanket for us and one for Tel's mum at your Tesco Kingfisher Drive, (got postcode in satnav) so will pick that up Fiday afternoon and a few supplies for the bunker! as there's so much of that b***dy white stuff around. Just hope the roads will be ok for the trip up. Not long till Suz starts her journey and will soon be ove there with you, so don't drink all the port! Lotsa love M & T xxx

Snow, snow and more snow!
Hi Lynne, well yes you are right, you have done loads, probably seems more apparant to all of us who only get to read the blogs, not get to carry out the fun stuff! Snow here is horrendous and it's making life tricky at times, I haven't seen my poor old mum as the village she lives in is notoriously difficult to get to in these conditions. So thank your lucky stars and make the most of every minute (sounds like you are). Look forward to the next instalment and take care, Hils x

Finally!
Hi Lynne. I'm finally into your blog after many tries. Lauging at your drinking port which of course is what Fiona & Anthony have been doing in Spain - it seems to me you travellers will use any excuse - as if you need one. So glad you have made friends along the way too. It's nice to catch up with locals isn't it? Take care and enjoy the rest of your holiday. Fondest regards. Jan

Yes it is very cold here. I was going to join the Ramblers for an all day walk today. Chickened out & instead had a walk in Hampden Park - very pretty & reminded me of CS Lewis's Narnia. I also remembered you telling me about a walk you had there earlier in the Spring. Your rainforest experience looks mavellous- well except for the leeches! Take Care Love Geraldine

snow and literature
Well, I hope you're not complaining about a drop of rain. It's been non stop here since Friday but now turning icy and sleety with - guess what- heavy snow forecast. Agree with you re Dirt Music. read it a few years ago and thought it was very good, am also not a fan of PD James. If you get a chance to go to the cinema , look out for Another Year (Mike Leigh film). Superb, I thought. OK enough of weather and culture get back to your hols and keep up the good blog, Sue xxx

Rain!!
Rainy too in Scotland, Lynne, and a lot colder than Oz BUT the friendliness of the people more than makes up for the grey weather. Love reading your blog. Lots of love from Pauline & the animal tribe.

have enjoyed my beach walk
Had a lovely walk on the beach with you but not used up many calories I fear even on the steep hill. On the other hand I haven't put them on by metally devouring that overblown ice cream either! Am now looking forward to going to Queensland with you, it's the part of Australia I've been to, well the north bit anyway. Keep having fun. Ten beds ??? Sue x

Sunshine Coast Queensland
Hi Lynne Now you are in "our territory"!! You must drive up the Sunshine Coast! Use the coast road wherever possible after Caloundra. We have stayed there at Kings Beach 4 times! Have a swim at Dicky Beach. When looking for a meal always try the Surf Club or if you are at Kings Beach, the Tavern. They have great daily specials, particularly at lunchtimes. There is a carvery at the surf Club at Maloolaba and you can sit at the big window looking out at the water and at around 5pm daily during the week you can watch the young surf lifesavers in training. Inland from Noosa there is the Eumundi Market with lots of local interest. It is on Wednesdays and Sundays. Also up there is the pineapple factory with tourist activity and the ginger factory. On the way between Brisbane and Caloundra is Australia Zoo. Finally if you want to see what the Ozzies do in the evenings go to the RSL Club at Caloundra. If you are staying anywhere on the coast there is a free courtesy bus to take you there and back. It is the winning club in all of Queensland. The Coast is just beautiful. Our favourites...Coolum Beach and Peregian. Amazing!! Enjoy. Love Jocelyn

B.....y Teeth!
Gosh Lynne it makes me cross when I think if it wasn't for my b..... teeth I could well have been enjoying all that with you!! It looks sooooo beautiful and I agree with you about the jacaranda trees - when we were in Perth the streets near my cousins were full of them - I not that you have deliberately avoided my question about the sewing projects!! Forget about them you are far too busy to think about it .......... was in the Pumpkin Patch today with Margaret (new member) buying her Christmas materials to make table mats - very controlled only bought a pack of needles!! Love Jill xx
