I think the NZ Hakai is pretty scary - and certainly aggressive especially when they 'do it' against Australia before every sporting event!! All part of their plan of course!

Glad the weather didn't put you off
Well done for venturing out despite the weather. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to Waiotapu and look forward to reading all about your Hangi and Concert and visit to Polynesian Spa.

something fishy in the drains
Aww Lynne it all looks so gorgeous and you look so relaxed and happy too. And what a eautiful drain cover. You must have arrived in paradise if even the drains are works of art. I haven't had a very good week but am dragging myself out of the doldrums as best I can and your lovely blogs and pictures certainly help. Lots of love, Sue x

Beautiful NZ Stone Fruit
Isn't it funny how you can know all the words but not the meaning? We see funny sayings or words here all the time and have to puzzle them out. I love NZ stone fruit - known in Australia as 'NZ Summer Fruit'. As the summer is 'later' in NZ, it means a continuous supply from early Dec (Aussie fruit) through to Easter (NZ fruit). Yum! I must say, you looked very relaxed in your sunny lunch time photo. Also love the Moonlight photo. Get the peg for the nose ready - you are off to sulphur country!!

Take a peg !!
Dear Lynne and Suzanne, You should write a travel book Lynne, I love reading your stories and then I want to go there.Or maybe you have that way of looking at the best in everything. You have probably been to Rotorua before but if not, the sulphur is very strong. You get used to it though. Take a peg !! Take care, love from Suzanne and girls.

haven't forgotten about you!
Hi Lynne and Suz, unfortunately I'm just recovering from horrible flu which had me on my back and out of action for over a week, so I hadn't forgotten about you, just been unable to reply. Anyway, on the mend now so lovely to hear about how you are doing. Lynne you have a lovely way to describe things, you should look at writing a book! The photos continue to be amazing and it has made me want to visit NZ more than ever. Love to you both as you continue on your adventure x x

Still jealous!
How lovely to be having some time together, it was wonderful to catch up again Lynn, even though it was briefly. i hope you are not seeing the same weather today that we are getting in Auckland. A little touch of what Australia has seen I think!

These photos are brilliant. What a place. Are Kiwis really that big?
16th January 2011

Ah...sun, sand and sea!
The photos are brilliant - we definitely wish we were there. The grey sky, rainy weather and short days are just beginning to wear a bit. Sounds like you are having a great time. Thanks for giving us so many interesting details about all the places you are visiting...it's a real education.

Hola looks fantastic be good for you to enjoy a break from having all that fun and glad Suz is there to keep you out of mischief! Got your text with the NZ sim card and texted back did you get my reply? we made enquires to find out if our Spanish sim would work over there and were told yes for Singapore & NZ but not OZ (thats why you didn't get my texts) so can you let me know if you got my reply to the NZ sim please. I've been on a bit of a diet and health kick to get ready for the trip (and to lose the 3kilos I put on over Xmas & NY!!) so lots of salads only 2 glasses of wine all week despite Tel's birthday and today we cycled to Frailes and back a good start eh? I couldn't cycle up the hill to the villa on the way back but then Rome wasn't built in a day!! Must start eating Kiwi's too as they are cheap and plentiful here. Any thoughts on Skype be nice to talk to Suz too? Lots a love M & T xx

Volcanoes
Hi Lynne I love volcanoes! Went to Vesuvius about 8 years ago & found it like no other place I had been to - scary as it was smoking on the day we visited. Can hardly believe it but will have finished my Dyslexia course next week!! Madly putting my teaching file & summative essay together. Enjoy your time with Suzanne. Take Care Love Geraldine

Hi Lynne, I like the look of that grassed over crater. Very stunning. Prill and I are packing our bags to see what we need to take with us. Your E Mail to Prill Was very helpful. Tom is with us for this week, and leaves for Durham on Saturday. Alice is on the galapagas Islands on a cruise. Has spotted many penguins. Thankyou Jocelyn and Mac for your concerns about our travels. We have taken it on board and have adjusted our plans. All the best to everyone, Love prill and Bob

Fond NZ memories.
Hi Lynne, loving your NZ blog and pics. I was in NZ (nth island only) in January 2009. We had such fun and saw so many different sights. Yes, it is a truly amazing country. I must try to get back some day and visit the south island. More treats in store I think. Fond regards - stay safe. Jan

Looks and sounds so beautiful
What stunning scenery!!! I am soooooooooooooo jealous. You would know you were in Scotland if you were slithering all over the road as we are--snow still on the ground--been here since November 28th. & I am so glad to hear I am not the only one with a daughter who scrutinises her mother's clothes (Mum, why have you come out dressed as a rainbow? is a comment I won't forget) Carry on having fun, Lynne & thank you for your beautiful descriptions & photos that bring some sunshine to a very cold Scotland. XX
