Water very murky as we sailed into port this morning - everyone warned not to swim in any of the beaches around Mumbai. Had a great day in Mumbai, we were very surprised, thought it would be a load more hectic that it was. Still loads of people and beeping horns of little black and yellow taxis everywhere - bit like Bali road rules are just guidelines - they basically do what they want to and go where they want to. Six of us hired a very comfortable, airconditioned people mover for $10 head for the day and that worked great! Took us to all the sites around Mumbai, including Dobi Ghat (the washing place), Ghandi House, Gateway of India, The Taj Mahal Hotel which looks very opulent directly opposite the Gateway of India, the beach ... read more

SUNDAY 2.6.2013 Docked early hours in Langkawi, at the Star Cruise Dock, quite a way out of town. Teamed up with some lovely people from Newcastle(who know the Nolans) at breakfast and with two other people hired our own mini bus that took us all over the island. We had a fantastic day, great company and lots of laughs. Loads cheaper than the ship tours and you don't have to put up with 45 people getting on and off buses, we were all on the same page, no tacky souvenir shops or the like just a good look around. First stop was to the cable car but unfortunately the weather was so bad it was closed for the morning, so we continued on our trip, stopping off in the main town Kuah for sightseeing and lunch, ... read more

MONDAY 27.5.2013 - FRIDAY 31.5.2013 Have been having an amazing time, the steakhouse dinner Sunday night was sensational - just what the doctor ordered. Monday/Tuesday sailed through the Flores Islands east of Bali, so many islands along that route - weather has been a little overcast but the last two very sunny, hot and humid. Tuesday night passed the northern side of Bali and then Wednesday between Sumatra and Borneo - lots of little fishing boats along the way. They have had the big fire hoses all rigged up on the edge of the ship ready for any pirates!! but they rarely go for these huge ships as its too difficult to get onboard. Our third officer gave a very informative and interesting lecture on the goings on of the ship, he has sailed a lot ... read more

THURSDAY 23.5.2013 Had an early night last night after dinner, it was so cold earlier in the evening that I had to get a couple of ports in our flasks to warm ourselves up!!, so after a couple of reds with dinner we were ready for bed, during the night we went past Bundaberg, Gladstone and are now heading towards the Whitsundays but will pass through there during the night. Busy morning seeing the ice carving on the deck, also a trivia session and then after lunch went to a Lecture "Navigating the Great Barrier Reef" hosted by Reef Pilot Captain David Richardson, very funny, dry sense of humour, we both thoroughly enjoyed his talk and before we knew it, an hour had gone by, he was an ex ship captain but now does the Great ... read more

TUESDAY 21.5.2013 Day at Sea between Sydney and Brisbane - after leaving Sydney and going out of phone range we find we have hooked back in and can see land all the way along the coast as we sail and have phone range. For some reason we are on the late dining which is 7.45p.m. but still had time to catch the show before we went to bed. Comedian and the dance group - quite entertaining! Had our sail away party last night with a great band could have listened to them all night. Have a welcome aboard party to go to in the Wheelhouse Bar today at .400p.m. put on by Cruiseabout so that will be fun, don't know how many free drinks we will get though. As always there is so much nice food ... read more

MONDAY 20.5.2013 Had a lovely leisurely drive up from Shell Harbour with Kaz and Reg, it was wonderful of them to drive us up to the White Bay Cruise Terminal in Sydney, boarded the Sea Princess by about 12.00 and had lunch whilst awaiting our departure at 4.00p.m. The boat was a bit late leaving heading out at about 4.40p.m., we thought it would be dark before we got outside the heads in Sydney but were very lucky to see everything as we cruised out under the Sydney Harbour Bridge and past the Opera House at about 5.30p.m. Absolutely SENSATIONAL!! views, we don't go much on Sydney as a city but it is very, very pretty. Many smaller boats, ferries etc on the harbour also people walking up the harbour bridge stopped to view the huge ... read more

Well another week has gone by. The time just flies when we are over here, our friend Cam arrived on Sunday for 4 nights, to do some business here so he was very much on the go but had the evenings to catch up. Gloria's birthday on the Wednesday night so we went to Mamasan for dinner, which as always was fantastic, a taste sensation. We have had a few wild storms atnight while here this week, but all in all the days have been fine during the day. Just arrived back this afternoon from a couple of nights up at Amed with our friends Adele, Reg and their son Noah (3). Its about a two and half hour drive flat out but we detoured to Pading Bai and had a very late lunch on the ... read more

Well can't believe we have been here a week already. The time has flown, Simon and Lee went home Thursday night after a short trip for dentist and medical treatments, all went well and we miss them already. Had lots of laughs, wines and Bintangs and some great dinners! We have a new favourite Teatro gastroteque, yum!! Only damper was it rained for two days while they were here but we managed. Had visit to Dokter Gigi (dentist) Friday to fit all crowns as only had temporaries, think they are fantastic, total of $2500 for 6 root canals, crowns, bottom teeth whitening, new mouth guard, pretty damn good if you ask me. If we can't catch friends in Aus we always do in Bali, caught up with old friend Angie and Simon who now live in ... read more
