One of the few white sand beaches in Bali
Well another week has gone by. The time just flies when we are over here, our friend Cam arrived on Sunday for 4 nights, to do some business here so he was very much on the go but had the evenings to catch up. Gloria's birthday on the Wednesday night so we went to Mamasan for dinner, which as always was fantastic, a taste sensation. We have had a few wild storms atnight while here this week, but all in all the days have been fine during the day. Just arrived back this afternoon from a couple of nights up at Amed with our friends Adele, Reg and their son Noah (3). Its about a two and half hour drive flat out but we detoured to Pading Bai and had a very late lunch on the way up, a cute little restaurant right on the beach at the ferry port, some yummy Indo food and a couple of Bintang. Had a fantastic time with Adele and Reg, they are always great company and we booked this gorgeous little place Villa Kampong right on the beach in Amed, actually Banutan beside Amed, antique bungalows, the complex has a two bedder and a

three bedder, separated by a wooden fence each bungalow has its own pool literally a metre off the beach!! Just fantastic with all the mod cons. The bungalows were all separate as was the kitchen and then a separate living room all built from antique javanese homes. The staff were very attentive without being intrusive and when we awoke in the morning the table was set and breakfast ready to go. Then we just flopped around in the pool and went up into the village for lunch at our leisure. We could have got the staff to shop for us and cook for us, but only being there two nights decided to eat out apart from breakfast. Saturday morning we called in the massage girls and we all had massages, then lunch. We went up the hill for dinner to our friend Marko's development ( used to own Rio Bar and Grill), The Griya, which is just a beautiful complex, villas and restaurant complex. Reg's birthday on the Saturday we thought we would have a lovely meal at the Griya. After a few beers and wines at Villa Kampong headed up to The Griya and were served a lovely dinner at our table overlooking the valley below and also overlooking the ocean to the left, and they even baked Reg and yummy chocy mud cake!! Had lunch at The Grill, (an aussie girl from Adelaide owns it) in Amed and then headed home, I looked at the spedo once and saw we were doing 100km/hr, Reg had the pedal to the metal weaving in and out of the traffice, SCARY!!! All in all a great weekend.
