So yes, Las Vegas is a really crazy city. Seriously the craziest one I've experienced in my life (so far..) This is the almighty city where all your dreams (and even things you were not dreaming about) come true. Make sure your wallet is big enough because spendind 100$/h is pretty easy overthere... So, I arrived there after experiencing Death Valley. Back to life ! Not to reality because this city is unreal. Except the strip, you have nothing to do. Maybe going to the "Old Vegas", the dirty place with dodgy casinos and nothing-to-loose gamblers. 1st evening I made it quiet, waiting for the guy Vince the day after to experience the city in proper manner. Just met a guy who was waiting midnight to get paid and be able to gamble always more. Funny ... read more

South Tahoe Lake Saturday September 25th. 9.30pm. I get the car at the SFO airport. Only one thing in mind: Driving. Driving to get away from the big city and face the Nature. Oakland, Richmond, Sacramento, several interesting cities I overtake just to reach the lake, South Tahoe Lake. 200 miles after, here I am. Lost in the deep dark night, "I saw the sign" (Ace of Base copyright). South Tahoe Lake. It is almost 2am, I have driven 4 or 5 hours, and I am dead meat. Let's park the car, grab the sleeping bag and... sleep. But for that I need to make sure I find a quiet spot for the house (I mean my car). Exploring the forest and search for a place, thinking "it should be easy, no ?". Until I met ... read more

North America » United States » California » Santa Rosa October 25th 2010

Hello hello ! Sooooooooooo sorry for not posting earlier. I will not tell you that I had no time, it's just that USA is so advanced on new technologies that you won't find any internet-cafe in the cities !! Everyone has a portable device like Iphone, Blackberry etc or the own laptop (very popular to sit in Starbucks and check your laptop for hours...) to browse the web. Especially in lost areas. The only internet-cafe I've seen during my whole trip , no joking, was in San Francisco last week. But after 2 minutes my fingers got stuck on the dirty keyboard and I thought " One week more without posting...should be ok". (I only managed to get connected in Apple Stores for important emails). So I deeply apologize for that and I advise you to ... read more

North America » United States » California » Santa Rosa September 24th 2010

Today I decided to spend one more day in Santa Rosa where my friend Vincent is leaving. This is located about 50 miles North from San Francisco. Santa Rosa is a cute little town, roughly 100000 unhabitants. This is where is located the Snoopy museum. Very quiet place, only surrounded by the sound of V8 engines of SUVs and pick-up trucks. People are very friendly and always asking how I am doing, where from I am, etc etc. Nice. And girls are typically american, fat and superficial. The main purpose of the day is shopping, ie the stuffs I need for the coming days that I did not buy in France. The american society is totally about consuming. A T-shirt costs less than a meal, and I am very lucky because it is sales period. Example: ... read more

Yesterday I arrived in San Francisco with a real pleasure. Let me just summarize the journey from Paris to SFO: Thanks to Dago I arrived prefectly on time to Orly Airport, and then took a plane with propeller (!!) to reach Dusseldorf. The hotel that I booked was...overbooked but ze germans are very well organized and transfered me to another one, 2km away. Then at the desk I could not register for the plane because I had no tickets to leave the country, meaning they did not want to let me get in the plane. In a super hurry I booked for Chihuahua (the city of Pancho Villa, but wait for me to be there and I will tell you more about him). I skip the details that I had to go to a hotel business ... read more
