After a huge breakfast consisting of fresh fruit salad, pancakes, sausage, maple syrup, muffins, coffee, tea and orange juice (which even we couldn't finish), we headed along the road to the falls. These were absolutely stunning. They surpassed our expectations. The thunder of the water could be heard more and more clearly as we got nearer. First we saw the American Falls on the far river bank, and then as we went further we could see both these and the Horseshoe Falls. The Horseshoe Falls span right across the river linking Canada and USA. Deep down in the gorge we could see 2 boats carrying passengers to the bottom of the falls....Maid in the Mist with people wearing blue macs from the US side, and Hornblower with people wearing red macs from the Canadian side.
