Another hot sunny day. We took the subway all the way out to Coney Island, which is about an hour's ride. We were amazed by the cheap ptice of $2.5 each. (and this with air conditioning and seats.) Coney Island is NY's answer to Margate or Leysdown....but better. There is a great long sandy beach with a boardwalk running all alongside.
