Fiona started work today, it was a ‘freezing’ 15 degrees and blowing a gale, I know some of you are probably secretly glad that we got at least one day of shitty weather, you are aren’t you? Deep down, in the pit of your stomach, there’s a wee pang of guilt for feeling it but you’re smirking now aren’t you? AREN’T YOU??? We got a train to Fremantle and then endured a 20 minute walk along the docks in this almighty storm, it wasn’t pretty and we were soaked to the skin after breaking TWO umbrellas in the first five minutes, luckily when Fiona got to work she was given a heater to dry off, I on the other hand, my ‘reward’ for getting up at the crack of dawn to make sure my bird got ... read more

It was soooooooooooo hot today, 42 degrees, I bet it was snowing at home, wasn't it, come you can tell me, don't be shy, we're all friends here. It was the hottest March day on record, it's meant to be heading into winter here, not likely, ain't had no winter like this before, or summer come to metnion it, the expected temperature is around 29-31 but we've been getting an average of around 37, cannae be bad as my old man would say. Fiona got a job today without even applying for one! We went into town and looked in on Lara in her office, we were meeting the bosses when one of them mentioned (they’re in the recruitment business) that a client of theirs was looking for a receptionist, the client being Rolls Royce. Anyway ... read more

Well I finally got around to adding some text, apologies and that but we've been so busy. I don't know what we've been doing 'cos I don't feel like we've done much in the last fortnight but you'll have to trust me, I have been busy, and if I keep telling myself that then I'll hopefully stay out of the rat race that is getting a job. Anyway on to the story, are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin...... We met Andrew and Marina at Lara and Frank’s party on Saturday, and despite the impression that we made they still invited us on a boat trip to Carnac Island. They were entertaining clients, they're in the Oil and Gas business, and had room for us on board, quite frankly they had room for a small army ... read more

We've had a real busy time so far in Perth, we've been setting up bank accounts, going in the spa, getting tax numbers, going in the spa, applying for loads of jobs, going in the spa, trying to get our bearings around Perth all while trying to have the occasional dip in the spa, it's a hard life after all, I don't think we though out this year hard enough, who'd of known it would be so tough? Anyway today was a day to relax, Frank and Lara were having a BBQ with a few choice friends to show us off, and all the work they'd done on the house but I think it was more about us, we're special don't you know? We had a great night, met loads of great people and stayed in ... read more

Well we left Sydney this morning for the 5 hour flight to Perth, WA is also 3 hours behind Sydney so we landed two hours after we took off, sweet. We were sad to leave Sydney, it's the best city we've ever been to do but we're determined to see as much of this vast country as we can but are defo going to spend another week or two in Sydney at the end of out time is Australia, we fly out of Sydney to Korea in August at any rate. We nearly missed our flight this morning, we slept is as I set the alarm for the wrong time and woke up at 8am, our flight was at 09:30 but you only need 30 minutes check-in for internal flights here, just as well. We got ... read more

These are pictures from one night we had at the Botanics but I can't remember when, I'm sure it was fun though, loads of nice, if repetitive, pictures. Hope you enjoy, Fiona might add to this at a later date but I've nothing more to say on the matter. I thank you.... read more

Well this morning was a total right-off after yesterday’s shenanigans, I’ll not go in to any details as to spare certain peoples blushes but it’s fair to say that it got messy, we toured the bars in town to great affect and just made the last train home, we left the last bar at about 10pm though and the last train was after midnight so I’ve no idea where the time went, the must have brought the clocks forward or something, yeah that’s what happened, investigation complete. Anyway, I finally draged her ladyship, (is that a real salutation?) (is salutation the right word for that context?) (is context the right word?) , out of bed for lunch, I'd already been wandering the streets eating in anywhere, and everywhere quite frankly, that was open. Trying to get ... read more

Another amazing day in Sydney so we decided to take a trip out to Bondi Beach, home of the gorgeous people, and walk along the cliffs to Coogee Beach via Bronte Beach. All these beaches are in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney which is only a couple of stops away on the train from Kings Cross, well so we thought, the train station is Bondi Junction which is still a bus ride away from the beach, we decided to walk it and took a wander down Oxford Street. We arrived at the beach some half an hour later and it was real busy, it was a Saturday after all, and a hot one at that. The beautiful people were out in force so we mingled right in, we took a walk along the sand watching the ... read more

We spent today down town sorting stuff out with our onward tickets then went for a wander around Cockle Bay, Darling Harbour and the shopping centres, we haven't treated ourselves for our birthdays last month yet so we need to spend (more) money soon..... Will updated this with news another time as it's 22:30 and we've been here for over 3 hours, it's real cheap though, $3 for as long as you want and the place is open 24/7 but I'm hungry. Before I go I MUST tell you about an amazing hot dog I had today, and I mean amazing, anyone who's been to Sydney should have heard of Harry's Cafe de wheels, it's an iconic pie cart in Woolloomooloo that's open 18 hours a day, loads of famous people are snapped there having late ... read more

Well a strange thing happened to me today, I was buying bread from a man from Brussels, I'm not joking he was was at least six foot four and full of muscles, I couldn't think of anything to say so I muttered, "Do you speak-a my language?" And he just smiled, and gave me a vegemite sandwich, then he said.... "I come from a land down under, Where beer does flow and men chunder, Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder? You better run, you better take cover." Anyway, enough from Men At Work, we landed in Sydney on Tuesday night and have had an AMAZING couple of days, this place is awesome I tell thee, we've seen all the must-do sights over the last couple of days and are taking a ferry over to ... read more
