fruit Hi,
Yes, we are finished with cherries and apricots, now have pears and apples left. Terry even learned to help with the canning this year! I'll domesticate him yet.
Hi, Linda! And it sounds like your summer was busy as well! Are you finished with cherry season? Sorry we missed you when you were in Sidney. Take care.....
Hi, Peg! How great to hear from you! We were amazed at how green the Sidney area was even in August, and the down side to that is that they can't get harvest finished. And we both know there'll be rain during the beet harvest. I hear you about Don~~no matter what they say, retirement is all it's cracked up to be!!
Thanks for writing!
Hi, Chris! Yes, the people speak a different language up here! Hunting is a big thing in Montana, but nothing like it is around here! There is a project in northern Michigan, but we haven't been there. I'm wanting to find a place that doesn't feel so much like fall~~it can look like fall and smell like fall, but I want the temps back in the 80s!
Have a great day, Chris!
Hello Good to see you back on here. I had just been thinking of emailing to ask you when you were to start on your next project....and, voila, there you were. We're glad you had a fun, busy summer. Love to you both.
Glad your back on the trail I thought about you over Labor Day and wondered if you were back on the road again. Thanks for the Blog, it is fun to read and see the beautiful places you've been.
Don is in Montana helping combine. He just left on his fourth trip to Poplar because of the rain. We pray for good weather this week and they will be done. He is really enjoying the retirement and being able to go up and help my brother.
It must be fall Hi guys, What a nice surprise to see your blog return this morning when I turned on my computer!
You are in my old stomping grounds, I carry those kind of pictures around in my head.
Now all you have to do is end your sentences with "you betcha eh" and sprinkle a few eh's here in there
for good mesure. I say my old stomping grounds because northern MInn, Wisc, and Michigan are pretty much
the same geography and ecology. If you get a chance to do something in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan, that is a
special treat. I think so at least.
God bless your work and you this comming year.
Chris
Hi, Jill! Isn't that a funny sign! I was afraid Megan and I were going to be stuck in there forever, and become a statistic! The men and kids flew right through, and I was dizzy before I ever found my way out!
I miss the smells of Sidney in the fall....and that includes the sugar beet factory, which I've loved the smell of since I was little. It reminds me of home.
Hi, Lynette! What a wonderful surprise! I didn't know you were working at the school, but it doesn't surprise me...I'm sure you're good at it. Is John V married? You're lucky to have the grandkids close by. After we leave this project we'll be far from all of ours for many months. That's the hard part of our lifestyle. But it works itself out, and we both love what we're doing. Thanks for writing!
On the road again good pics. Glad to see you are out doing good again! We are in Myrtle Beach tonight then on to Hilton Head tomorrow to meet up with friends and play some golf. We did a little road trip from DC down the eastern seaboard. Will be home in a week. When are you heading to Arizona? We will probably head down the first part of Nov. Will plan on seeing when you get there.
safety record Love the safety record posted at the maze in Rapid City! You should be able to see the season changing colors this year! Remember-you're from Montana-you can do this!
dropping a line... Just dropping a line to say hi! It has been a long time since I have seen you...looks like things are going very well with you all. We are doing great, just enjoying life and our grandkids. We now have 3 grandchildren ages 8, 6 and 9 months...Two of them live away from here and the baby we just had for a few days before i go back to work, lives close by...I have been working in the Sidney School system now for going on 3 years. I work in the resource room at the High School with kids that need extra help and those children that have special needs. I enjoy serving other people, that is just the way that I am...You all know that from working with me.
I was reading your piece in the sidney hearld about your travels and am enjoying the continueing story of your Volunteer work. You both are very giving folks...Thank you. Some of the places that you have gone sound so wonderful...High on the mountain to low in Valley, Festivals of every kind, and going to the beach.
I hate to cut this short but wanted to let you know that i was thinking of you...enjoy your retirement and I will again visit your blog...take care Lynette
Hi, Judy~~ I don't know if baby tears grows in your area, but I would think it would. Just check with a local nursery. Once you get them started, they grow like crazy, and are so pretty.
Thanks for looking at my blog.....Vicki
Hi Vicki - Really enjoyed the pictures of Hawaii - brings back memories! The pics are beautiful and very enjoyable...but not as enjoyable as how you related your cockroach adventure - I laughed through the whole story.
Love to Bob and You - check out your facebook page - related a message about Fred's nephew in your neck of the woods. LOL
Hi, Carrell! I laughed about your suggested sign for Washington...laughed and agreed with you!
We're back in ND now, and have practically stopped peeling! We loved Hawaii!
flowers and water Hi You Two,
We really loved the big island - both sides. Enjoy your time there. I am in complete agreement about the inclusion of plumeria in heaven!! I love the smell. And don't get me started on cockroach stories after our year in Venezuela! Maybe I will share when you have left the heavenly islands for more tame shores.
Maybe they need some of Bob's signs in Washington, D.C.
May God continue to bless your time there and preparation for your new tours.
Hi, Chris! I was disappointed that we missed you when we were at church last month. Some time it'll work out, huh?
Little Paul getting married?! What is he, 16 now?! Will he be living close to home?
I'm going to email you so we can get caught up.
Thanks for being so supportive of me! I am going to write articles (monthly, if I get busy) for the Roundup! It's scary, but I think it will be ok once I get started....I just need to get started!
Love you.....
Hi, Rosi! Unless he likes loooong plane rides, I think I'd opt for someplace closer! But is there any place prettier than Hawaii? We were only on the big island.
Hi, Patti! If you just hang in there long enough, I'll come through! I have one more group of pix that I'm going to post, and then I'll also put them on my facebook.
We all miss you guys. :(
We retired the end of 2006, and started traveling the country, working with RVICS~~Roving Volunteers in Christ's Service. (Pronounced R-VICS.) We live and travel in our motor home, and work at Christian camps, schools and conference centers accross the country. RVICS isn't affiliated with one denomination; rather, it's a Christ faith based ministry. We don't travel as a group, but whoever is assigned to a particular project meets up on the beginning date. We're on each project about four weeks.
If you are interested in more information on RVICS, please log on to: rvics.com, or contact u... full info

great paint colors!
I had NO idea the Mississippi would be clear up there! And the Accident Reduction sign made me laugh!
