Lucky You!!!!! I'm so glad that you are living your dream. I believe RV living is great. You are in beautiful country. Keep up the good work and enjoying life.
What a great long weekend we had with you guys! And so cool to be able to picture where you are right now and where you'll be next month! I notice your blog didn't include any comments regarding the traumas Dad suffered while we were there :) The picture of Megan and I goofing while Dad's diligently picking oranges pretty much sums it up! The picture of the brown air made my eyes burn :)
I sure love you guys!!
Hi, Rosi! I hope you're feeling better. This flu hasn't hit the stomach, it's all in the breathing and coughing. Coughing must burn calories, right?
Get better fast. Miss you!
Hey you two - glad to hear that you are now on the road to recovery (bet you wish you had two bathrooms in your home on wheels). What a bummer! Also glad that you have a great project and that you are doing something you like to do. I (Rosi) have attracted the "Cedar Fever" apparently lots of people get it and now i do too. You really don't get a fever with it just asthma conditions. Went to the Dr. yesterday and it has turned in bronchitis? So a stop at the pharmacy and home with a "boatload" of meds to take. The Doc told me to get lots of rest - but some of the meds state "you may have trouble sleeping"...go figure. It was really cold here last night and will be freezing for the next week at night. Glad you are feeling better, say HI to everyone on your team for us. Another great blog.
Hi, Lin! We are about 70 miles from there, but in March we're staying about 12 miles from Casa Grande! Actually, we stayed in Picacho for two days before we pulled into Phoenix Christian School. How long will you be down here? Let's work on getting together!
Hi, Sandy! We know Buelah~~my mom grew up in New Salem! And we spent 13 years in Wright, WY, so we know Wheatland too! All that goes in the It's a Small World category!
I think you will really enjoy this lifestyle! Until we found RVICS, we didn't have a plan for our retirement years, as we knew we couldn't sit around, and golfing day after day was not for us. This gives us the BEST of all worlds! There are several organizations, just look around and find the one that suits you best. I would love to keep in touch with you.
Thanks for reading my blog!
Vicki
Love your blog Hello Vicki,
My husband and I are 7 years from retirement, and were dreading it, until we ran across your blog and the websites for missions for Rving retires. Oh, we are so excited now! Leaving it up to the Lord if this where he wants us, but sure is up our alley for enjoying traveling and continuing to do the Lord's work. We live in Wheatland WY, moved here 8 years ago from Beulah ND. Yes, we know Dickinson, Medora, etc. well! Our grandchildren are in Hillsboro, ND and in Mesa, AZ. Love to spend time with them but also want to continue our lives in retirement. I have enjoyed reading your whole blog and enjoyed your pictures and stories, and dropped a few tears reading about your homesickness for your grandbabies, and the loss of your friends who went on to be with the Lord. God bless you and Bob on this coming years travels, we will keep you all in prayer, hoping some day to join in with your group or one similar. God Bless! Sandy Keyes
Hi, Bette! We didn't have those. We sampled a lot of things, and having their pecan pie was on my list, but we didn't get a chance to try that either. There's only so much you can eat in three days! But I'm remembering the beignets for next visit!
Thanks for reading my blog.....Vicki
Beignets? Did you sample (actually devour) the beignets at Cafe du Monde near the waterfront? You end up covered in powdered sugar but they are so good with a cup of coffee.
I'm enjoying your travels! Thanks. Bette
Hi, Chris! Yes, that's the name I've heard from them. I'm sure we saw them in Ohio, but I couldn't remember the name. Yes, they look like they'd be in the grasshopper family, but not a regular family member!
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Hi- We called those Catydids in Michigan. I would call those in the same
famly but a distant cousin of our grasshoppers.
Have a great Christmas you two.
Chris
Hi, Marilyn! I wish you were on project with us this month~~it's a wonderful team! We stuffed ourselves with turkey today, and then sang for almost two hours!!
Montana nails We lived in Montana for four years, does that qualify us?
Empty your pockets Vicki!!
So good to see Bill active at his usual Key Board job. Great singing eh what?
Hi, Margo! We thought Jailer Sayler had a nice ring to it! We were someplace where Mr Sherf was running for Sheriff! Sheriff Sherf...I think that is credentials enough!
We retired the end of 2006, and started traveling the country, working with RVICS~~Roving Volunteers in Christ's Service. (Pronounced R-VICS.) We live and travel in our motor home, and work at Christian camps, schools and conference centers accross the country. RVICS isn't affiliated with one denomination; rather, it's a Christ faith based ministry. We don't travel as a group, but whoever is assigned to a particular project meets up on the beginning date. We're on each project about four weeks.
If you are interested in more information on RVICS, please log on to: rvics.com, or contact u... full info

Hi, Jean!
We are aware of how fortunate we are to be living this lifestyle, and every day we thank God for allowing it. Thanks for reading my blog!
