We left Alona in the morning after a last breakfast at Trudis.. We arrived at the port waaaay too early, the ferry did not leave untill 6 in the evening and the ferry was quite expensive, 700 pesos per person. So we went for a walk aroung Tagbilaran to see if there was anything interesting to do. We found an internet café were we spent some time talking to people back home. Then we sat on a bench at the marina but it started pouring down and we were lucky that some of the locals who worked at the marina let us into their office. When the rain stopped we went to a local restaurant and the food was really horrible, the meat in my pork adobo was almost just fat, skin and bones. We ate ... read more

We left Nuts Huts with a boat at 8:30 after having eaten breakfast. We had to wait 20 minutes for two old ladies who were late for the boat and could not get down the stairs. They did not really fit into the jungle surrounding with their nailpolish, make-up and trolley suitcases but at least they were trying to get out there. Rita went on the trip too and seemed a bit tired of the two ladies - understandably. We went to Tagbilaran by jeepney and then we took a tricycle to Alona. We stayed at Bohol Divers Lodge where we payed 600 pesos per night. It was very luxurious for our standard, we had a pool, fan, bathroom with sink and mirror and a shower. There were some termites or whatever crawling on the wall ... read more

After saying goodbye to my dad and Claus, Stefanie and I went to the island Bohol further south. The trip took us back to Cebu where we took a ferry to Bohol. Arriving at the port in Bohol we had to get to the city of Carmen, but a taxidriver told us that the last bus had already left and that he could drive us for 1500 pesos. We did not really believe him and to our luck we found out that we could still catch a bus which only costs 50 pesos. They do try to scam you so be aware and look into things yourself. In Carmen we got a lot of offers from motorbike taxis, but when they told us that is was only about 3 km to Bahlasan we decided to walk. ... read more

The first thing we did when we arrived in Cebu City after a pretty long and stressfull travel from Denmark was to catch a bus to the northern city of Maya on Cebu Island, it took about four hours, and I had hoped for some sleep after the long flight, but in the Phillippines the locals are very proud of their cocks (read roosters) - that they use for their traditional cock fights - which means that they carry them with them inside the bus where they occasionally pet them. So everytime we almost went to sleep they would wake us up. The bustrip was very beautiful and full of new experiences and impressions, especially to Stefanie who had never travelled in South East Asia before and felt that special atmosphere I had been missing for ... read more
