More congratulations! Chris, many women complain that their husbands are not romantic - there is no way Nikki could make such a claim! Due to your anniversary being in February, it would be possible to renew your vows on every continent - you've already done so on two of them. This annual renewal of vows is such a beautiful idea!
Very cool. We almost always spend our wedding anniversary on vacation and frequently in another country. We were married in Barbados, remarried on our 5th anniversary by the same minister in Barbados, remarried on a quiet beach on Matamanoa Island in Fiji for our 10th and we went to Sanibel Island, Florida for our 15th because that was our 1st trip together. We stayed in the same hotel but upgraded to a much nicer room. We've gone back to Barbados a couple of other times to celebrate. In addition to those locations we've had celebrations in Sanibel Island, Florida, Dominica, West Indies, Manzanillo, Mexico, Maine, Cabo San Lucas, and Sedona, Arizona. It is a fun tradition.
How romantic... and those tears were not from the sunlight! We are looking forward to seeing where you are married next year. From now on you won't forget your anniversary.
Thanks and agree re the flooding issue! A good SLR housing costs more than an underwater compact camera, so I can also see the financial sense in not purchasing the housing. Seeing the mood you conveyed in these photos has convinced me of the need to purchase a small underwater camera for my snorkelling.
Thanks Shane, I use a Canon ixus 90. I'd love to get underwater housing for my SLR but I'm too worried it will flood and leave me cameraless for the rest of my trip.
No more all inclusive guys! Sad to read your story...you pick the wrong place. I tend to stay clear of all all-inclusive....specially around that area...well...we just have to wait for your diving pictures....you may have a lot of noise, but the pics are still beautiful!
I haven't been to an all inclusive in years and there is a reason we booked this particular resort, which will be revealed in a future blog, but I will not be going again. The diving was great, that will probably be the next blog I publish.
sorry to hear about the sleepless nights I could feel the irritation just by reading =P but I truly understand as I myself turns into a monster when I'm sleep deprived.haha.I hope by now you've got all the sleep that you needed. lovely photos :)
I'm glad you shared the good pieces first We'd love to have you move to the US. It is sad how obnoxious people can be-- no matter what country they are from. Guess next time you'll need to book a smaller hotel with no entertainment. It is sometimes worth the walk down the street. It is sad that they didn't have enough sense to stay quiet during the wedding. Certainly enjoyed your photos and I am glad you talked them down on the price. We were in a restaurant in Morocco and I learned too late that we could have bargained for the meal. I love to barter so I missed an opportunity. Maybe next time.
Nothing more annoying than being kept awake! We wholeheartedly agree with you about noise at night, but it\'s usually the last thing you find out about a hotel isn\'t it? There is nothing worse than either trying to sleep and it being noisy or being woken up at 3am from a lovely sleep...arrggggh, it drives us mad! Honestly though, every nationality has these annoying louts (yes, our fellow Brits can be bad) and we have come across all nationality beered-up bozos. So disrespectful with the weddings, how rude can people be?!
Love the pics of the two of you with the dolphins, sea lions and manatees. Hope you have caught up on your sleep now and we are looking forward to the other blogs.
Think we have finally caught up with our sleep now (I have anyway). Definitely the worst thing ever not being able to sleep, but the trip was awesome so it made up for it.
Dust, Dawn, Morning and Night Your photographs of the aforementioned times are just remarkable. My fiance and I are still quite new to digital photography and we have not been able to find proper settings to take good photos during these times. Are you using a tripod in, for example, the Northern light's photos?
Noise, noise, noise... One of my banes when travelling - noisy hotels. I almost always avoid any accommodation that has a nightclub or live music. Same applies to any place on a busy road without double glazed windows. Sorry to hear that your holiday was not as relaxing as it otherwise should have been. Looking forward to the rest of the blogs from your time in Mexico.
was funny the part about the massages!!
by the way... I really enjoy reading all your stories (It help me to improve my English).. it seems like I know you guys long time ago. haha.. maybe you should visit Costa Rica. I am a Colombian but I live here and I really like it. it´s nice at summer. and there are some great beaches.
the things you and your beautiful wife do, are the dreams i´ll always have.. (very difficult to me to do it). so for the moment I wll still enjoy your stories about trips.. (is like reading a novel of love and travel at the same time)... Best wishes always.

Wonderful blog I couldn't agree more. Sometimes I think we spend so much time thinking about and planning our next big adventure that we forget to explore where we already are!
Welcome to our blog, we are Chris & Nikki and we are travel addicts!!!
Chris is a born & bred Londoner (and a 'real' Cockney).
Nikki is originally from Chester Le-Street in Durham but has been 'down south' since she started university.
We (try to) visit four places a year and if possible try to make it a different continent each time.
We love life experiences, photography and travel and if we're lucky we combine them all in one trip.
Travelblog is pretty much our diary of places visited & a diary of our relationship,
My present to say 'congratulations' for finishing universit... full info
