Lovely write up! A great narration indeed. Al Mahara is indeed the best. I generally go to Wagamama at Palm for family or office parties but this is great for special occassions.
So true So truly spoken on the point of few items "wow" you anymore. We did Turkey 2 years ago and absolutely loved everything there. We did not make it to Cappadocia, but Pamukkale wand the west coast was pretty awesome. Cappadocia is on the list though. Try New Mexico in October for the world's biggest hot air balloon festival with over 500 balloons on any given day and balloons of all shapes and sizes. Seeing your pictures a trip to Cappadocia just jumped a couple spots on the priority list.
Cambodia It is difficult to understand the ability to be so inhumane. Sad. Now words can describe the feeling when visiting the Killing Fields or S21. The people seem resilient. They've come through a great deal.
Grusome beyond words! I seriously struggled with S21 and the Killing Fields, and I really wish they would cordon off a wider area around the mass graves so there was no possibility of tourists walking on human bones. Power, money and religion are pretty powerful motivators for instigating genocides - it's pretty horrific stuff :(
I really enjoyed reading your account of your visit to Cambodia. Fascinating country with a dark past. Visiting the Killing Fields and prison made a huge impact on me!
Happy, happy anniversary my friends, Such a great story for travel bloggers. Always good to know more about those we follow and read. You must be doing something right. Ten wonderful, memorable and well lived years. Fantastic following you around the world celebrating your special date. Carry on.
So many temples so little time Love the respect you have for others beliefs and loved your opinions on the, "just a temple". We feel the same way. It is an interesting part of the world. Glad you had the time to embrace all that was offered. Yes we enjoyed the food there also. As always your photos have told a great story.
Congratulations Nikki and Chris! And I laughed out loud at "It would appear the great battle between Brits and Germans for sunbeds extends further than Europe." I can assure you it's a global battle... I have been known to move a few of those '6am towel bookings' of sunbeds :)
Happy Anniversary! You beach bunnies have chosen some gorgeous spots for celebrating your time together. If this one, only one out of ten, was a bit of a loser, I'd say, you're choosing pretty well--and you still have some great photos here. Here's to your next ten and on and on!
Hmm..Curious I cant help it..im curious as to the nationality of the ''lady'' who wiped her kids bum with a tablecloth and then proceeded to eat breakfast. And Go You! I told a german woman off for berating a poor thai lass about a dress..still remember her words..wrong color! wrong size!...my response..Wrong Country?..sometimes i think people do need to be told..btw nice blog and not an anti german rant.
Memories.... What a lovely idea to celebrate each year in a new location! I had to chuckle about your experience at Sihanoukville, because I stayed at the Sokha in September last year and had a similar experience (including the singer). I'm not a fan of big resorts and after my visit there won't be going to another one if I can help it. But I have to say, the beach is stunning.
Welcome to our blog, we are Chris & Nikki and we are travel addicts!!!
Chris is a born & bred Londoner (and a 'real' Cockney).
Nikki is originally from Chester Le-Street in Durham but has been 'down south' since she started university.
We (try to) visit four places a year and if possible try to make it a different continent each time.
We love life experiences, photography and travel and if we're lucky we combine them all in one trip.
Travelblog is pretty much our diary of places visited & a diary of our relationship,
My present to say 'congratulations' for finishing universit... full info
