Those pesky mossies! I would love your mosquito rating on places... to date, Cambodia has been the worst country for bites for me. The one IN my ear totally topped the list. Safe travels, Ren :)
Amazing places and photos! Love that you visited several temples, including ones that gave you that just-discovered, hidden-in-the jungle feeling. Pretty surprising the gray skies since this was the dry season--what would the rainy one be like? Also, pretty funny, pink boy covered with mossi bites walking through the village--I'm sure you were the highlight of their day!
Chocolate & Cactus This made me laugh...but I'm impressed that you were up for it. I'm not sure I would've been up for eating your chocolate though....human blood, saliva and all! A visit to the chocolate museum is definitely on my wish list. Without the cactus!
LOL ..Id probably stick my tongue out too Enjoyed the read, sounds like something id do..love the fact you fell for it :D
Hope the altitude sickness wasnt too bad - take care looking forward to the next installment.
What a man! Bravo for not being a cactus weenie--and how great that you had a proper reward! So glad that you discovered the beauty of one of my fave cities--I spent four months there last year. Good luck with the altitude and the trail--it's all at a lower elevation than Cusco and the first day isn't so difficult. Best wishes! Also, I'm in Arequipa--if you come, I can give you a tour! Come on down!
The zombies would have freaked me out! I've never watched The Walking Dead or any zombie movie/series as they seriously scare me! I was even afraid by the Michael Jackson's Thriller video! Correction: I still am! But what you did looks like an awesome way to spend Halloween if you're not a chicken like I am. I went trick or treating with my one and a half year old daughter who was in awe by all the sweets she got, she didn't even want to put them in her bag, just hold them in her hand (I guess she was afraid I will take them away), so I can also say we enjoy Halloween... without the zombies! :)
Unusual behavior! Yes that describes Venice Beach. This area has a vortex that pulls in all the weirdos. Most of the homeless in the U.S. has varying degrees of mental issues, not just in LA. It is sad that we don't provide opportunities for care to these people. So glad you made it to the mecca of Gold's and...a photo op with Lou!!! Sweet!!! Coasters, stars and beaches.....you've had the LA experience. Cool.
The process of deinstitutionalizing mental health in the US... was set in motion by the Community Mental Health Act of 1963 under JFK. the transition was completed prior to Reagan becoming president in 1980. Anyway, it sounds like you had a great time in LA!
Chris and Nikki's big adventure! How great that you got to see some of your heroes at the gym--that's LA! And Venice beach is such a trip--sadly true about those with mental problems--it was a scandal what Reagan did, and many of us work to find homes and get services to these people. On the other hand, all eccentrics gravitate to Venice where they can be wild and celebrated for being different. Glad to went to Disneyland--really so fun!
What an adventure! Years ago Chuuk was not on my list...and now that I've done few wrecks, I'm strating to feel I want to do it! Amazing blog you have there...and glad to see you didn't have only rain.
That title will get attention Diving the dream.......fantastic. Diving to history...eerie. I'm sure Nikki was hoping one of the thumps on the head would knock some sense into you....oh, just kidding. :) Great ghost stories. Travel on and make the dreams come true.
The light was natural light from above. From memory that wreck was upright & I'm not sure of the depth of the wheelhouse but could have been fairly shallow. Some wrecks are literally sticking out of the water there.
Welcome to our blog, we are Chris & Nikki and we are travel addicts!!!
Chris is a born & bred Londoner (and a 'real' Cockney).
Nikki is originally from Chester Le-Street in Durham but has been 'down south' since she started university.
We (try to) visit four places a year and if possible try to make it a different continent each time.
We love life experiences, photography and travel and if we're lucky we combine them all in one trip.
Travelblog is pretty much our diary of places visited & a diary of our relationship,
