Aurora! Very nice pictures of a place I did not know of. I had an opportunity to visit Finland a little when I worked for Nokia. I would really love to see this part of the world and especially take photos of the Aurora. Maybe someday, I hope!
Touring the north can be recommended I can recommend a vacation in the north. There are huge distances but the places you visit and the scenieries along the way are very rewarding. However, I would recommend the summer, with the endless days and pleasant weather. In winter the days are very short and it is cold outside. /Ake
Finding them is a challenge Kiruna is an interesting place which is little known in the rest of the world. Finding places like these is a challenge and one of the reasons why I travel in the first place./Ake
Ice Hotel was not built yet when I was there I was in Kiruna too early to see the Ice Hotel. I drove by the place where it is but they hadn't started to build it yet
Run, run, run Alwasy tood to follow your passion around the world. Loved your description of two middle aged Swedes finding their stride...great! Love the running quotes....it is always good to laugh at yourself a bit.
Run Forest Run Love this guys! A blog dedicated to running - awesome! I also run in all corners of the world and it is indeed a fantastic way to see the wonders of our planet. Keep running and keep blogging. Happy travels, Dave.
I ran with Forrest Gump once I just have to tell you that I once participated in a shooting of a TV commercial that had a Run Forrest Run-theme. The commercial was for a new line of runners shoes and one guy was dressed up at Forrest Gump, with a beard and everything, and I and a bunch of others ran behind him. The commercial was eventually finished but was never aired. Possibly for them being afraid of violating some copyright /Ake
Running all over the World I remember you guys running in Morocco and had to hit "Follow"...but only in a TBer kinda way. Really thrilled to see a blog on your running all over the World. I'm sure I can find a song about that!!!
The Zagora blog caught your attention Interesting to hear that it was the Zagora blog (Running in Morocco) that made you start following us. I guess it is one blog entry that sticks out a little bit. That was a while ago. Thank you for following the blog for that long. /Ake
Glad you liked it We weren't quite sure how people would react to this blog entry. It's all just pictures of us running... So thanks for telling us you liked it and also thank you for following our blog /Ake
Running - easy to perform but hard on the body Running as an exercise is good because it is so easy to perform. All you need is a pair of shoes. One downside though is that it is tough on the body. Knees and feet take a punch with every step. /Ake
What a collection you have. Love that you have continue this passion for running on your travels and that you have also recorded it via a blog and pictures. I also love running but have not comitted myself to run in each country and most likely have a total of one picture. I'm really inspired by you both.
Running + sightseeing = Great combination Running is for us not only exercise, it is also a good way for sightseeing. We can cover a lot of ground fast and can easily make detours into areas we otherwise wouldn't visit. If you occationally run at home try to squeeze in a run here and there when you travel. It is something that works for us at least /Ake
Running on Empty This is a fine song and album by Jackson Browne from my California--I hope you don't have to run on empty too often. I adore this blog! So great to share your passion, which of course, we were aware of from your other blogs. I'm a back-country hiker, and not really a cult or group like you runners, but your Albania run reminded me of my kind of spots. And Emma ran 56 km--i didn't even walk that far daily when I walked the 800 km of the Camino (Jakob's Weg) in Spain. Hey--that would be a fun run!
I'll check that song Although I am sure I'd like his music I've actually never listened to Jackson Browne. But I will check out Running on Empty.
I envy you for having hiked the Camino de Santago-trail. It is on our to-do list. One day we will hopefully have the time for it. /Ake
Tunnels, industry and tea Ake, you really are an historian of all things industrial--the Norwegian power plants and now the transport systems here. I've always loved science museums, but thanks to your blogs, I'll also check out industry too. I adore and so share your wonderful description of football (men in shorts chasing a ball)! I also love your tunnel vision photos and hope you do publish a book of these symmetries! However, I'm with Emma on that gorgeous afternoon tea!
Thank you Tara There is one "industry" I very much would like to visit here in Stockholm - an abandoned nuclear reactor designed to produce plutonium for nuclear bombs. Yes, Sweden had its own "Manhattan Project" for a while. That would be interesting to visit.

We are Emma Holmbro and Ake Dahllof. We live in Stockholm, Sweden.
We have travelled more or less regularly since the mid 1990-ies and it seems like the more we travel the more difficult it is to decide where to go next. Not because we are running out of places to visit but because we find more places we want to go to faster than we manage to travel to them.
Some of the things from our travel bucket list we have ticked off since we started this blog in 2006 are
