A Small Swede in the Big World's Guestbook

I love Antibes!!!
We vacation'ed there many times when we lived in Europe. An it's easy to get to the rest of the Riviera and hill top towns from there after spending the mornings on the white sand beaches...I hate the rocks of Nice. I'm pleased you took the time to visit.

Guarding a Synagogue

Guarding a synagogue
Says it all...what a shame it is deemed necessary

Guarding a Synagogue

Guarding a synagogue
Yes, it is very sad that it is necessary. But the events in Copenhagen not long ago revealed again that Synagogues are a target for these extremists. I talked a bit with some of the soldiers and told them that I appreciated what they were doing.

On Top of the World!

On top of the world
I relate to the feeling in this photo...one that a dedicated traveller understands so well. Not an ego trip but the exhilaration of being there. Yet poignant as you felt the dark cloud of the threat of terrorism as well. Well penned blog Per-Olof.

On top of the world
Thank you my friend. It was indeed an exhilarating feeling to stand up there. A beautiful hurch behind me and the city of Marseilles stretching out before me. Yet, remaining wary of possible threats. I'm glad you liked it my friend!

You did not visit Chateau d'If, did you?
Chateau d'If has been on my "places-I-want-to-visit-one-day"-list for many years but I still haven't seen it. You didn't go there, did you? Too little time on your hands or was it for some other reason? /Ake

You did not visit Chateau d'If, did you?
I'm afraid I didn't have the time to go out there this time, it would have been cool though.

"Sometimes I feel such a sense of hopelessness for humanity"...
I know what you mean. And even though I know there are media beat-ups, it feels like the world is getting more and more intolerant and hateful. On another note though, lovely photos :)

"Sometimes I feel such a sense of hopelessness for humanity"...
Especially the last couple of years it feels like the world has taken a turn for the worse. In general though the world is progressing, but it feels so slow and hard sometimes.

Promenade du Paillon

Loved that fountain
When we visited Nice we absolutely loved that fountain. One of the best fountains we have ever seen. Seems like you liked it too. /Ake
