Rimini
They should make this the official guide to Rimini, Per-Olof. Made me want to get there pronto to explore the wonders on offer. And what a wonderful whirlwind tour of the Surgeon's House. Then the frantic dash and just making your train so you could head home. It is times like that you can truly feel...that was (puff puff)...really worth it!!!

UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Ravenna
Lot of pics as usual Per-Olof but lots showing good composition so if I'm not wrong you have taken a bit of time with your pics to do them justice. As a result, one of your best blogs in my opinion.

Coming from such an accomplished photographer as yourself I take great honour with me from your kind words. I do take some time at my photos and sometimes do a few attempts before being satisfied. Although it goes faster now than it used to, practice makes... well... still always more practice to be made. :D

Thank you my dancing friend! I started with the "ceiling sefie" in my last blog, but then at a tipped angle, this was my first attempt going at straight from below. I'm very happy that you like it!

Lamentation Over the Dead Christ

Lamentation over the dead Christ
Great pic of what must be an extraordinary religious artwork Per-Olof. Religion seems to bring out the best and worst in people but when it comes to religious art it seems to bring out the best.

It certainly does! That is one of the biggest reason why I still visit holy places despite being an agnostic. There is just so much breathtaking beauty to be found and this piece certainly leaves you in awe!

Bologna - city of porticoes
I was fascinated by all the porticoes in Bologna. I have been thinking about going back there again and after reading your blog I see that it would be worth it. Thanks!/Ake

Speaking out
I repeat your words Per-Olof as they are powerful and need repeating "History always repeats itself because we tend to never fully learn from it. Fascism and religious dogmatism is rising again throughout the world, ideologies that should have been defeated and left on the scrapheap of history is gaining new ground. I sometimes wonder if this cycle will ever be broken." I sometimes wonder if some of these scourges persist because enough people do not express loudly that the World has had "Enough." However, I believe such words do not stop them happening but do help in making them go away in time. You have made powerful social conscience comments in other blogs so I encourage you to continue as voices cannot be heard if they do not speak out. The fall of the Berlin Wall in time is a case in point.
