I left a piece of my heart in Cambodia and again wished I had stayed longer , not realising how easy it is change schedules i continued on my journey vowing to come back here one day , something I did a few weeks later as Asia , thanks to the cheapest of cheapest of flight cost is very accesible . When I look at my trail of Asia I went east- west- south- east -west- north and east again , abit like a kid in a giant sweet shop . I got my begger mate to take me to airport , a mean task as he had to go on the motorway with his tuc tuc which was a little hairy at times.A normal airport transfer taxi is always expensive and he wanted about a ... read more

Yo, a friend asked to see pics of the island where I'm staying at, so thought I'd write this blurb, even though I plan to stay here another year and hence this chapter of my travels is not completed yet. The guy whose house I was staying at over the winter inBulgariawanted to hook up with me in Asia and invited me to thisislandofKoh Phangan. He's been toAsiasome seven times and I figured he'd know of some good spots. Christmas was approaching so I decided to leave my solar panel remote village project in the north east corner ofThailandand head about half way down the length of the country, on the east coast. I think they filmed part of The Beach here. They have this these Full Moon, Half Moon and Black Moon parties where youngsters ... read more

I know it's a bit late to start a blog since I have been here a month already, but my family insisted! haha. I have much to catch you up on! -p.s. I'm in Thailand and have been here for 1 month and 10 days -I currently have a paid teaching contract until May through a company called CIEE Teach Abroad -I live in Suphan Buri which is about 2 hours NW of Bangkok. I am in the sub district of Bang Pla Ma. There isn't much here that tourists on a tight schedule would come for-but that's why I like it. I reeeeally feel like I'm in Thailand. I also live in the middle of rice fields. They don't see Americans often here so the need for native English speakers is needed. -I teach high ... read more

Hello, So this week was trekking week, moved from the resort last sunday for the drive in to the jungle, near the Burma border. Saw a massive black snake on the dirt track into the jungle, set things up for an interesting week! has been a good week, altho would have liked to have done more, seemed like we had quite a bit of free time. Trekked to the camp site on the first day, took about 3 hours through the jungle, sounds pretty difficult with the heat but wasn't that bad. The next day we went to some caves in the morning, then climbed up this waterfall in the afternoon which was pretty fun, some bits were pretty steep which scared the girls but i was totally cool with it... Then on thursday we climbed ... read more

well the past few days have been a lot quieter due to a number of factors. after my last entry i fell quite ill, im pretty sure it was food poisoning which lasted just under 48 hours. i feel much better now though but had a day of rest after the monks to try and speed up the healing process. the day after we went to the zoo which was abolutely fantastic. got some pics with ann orangutan and a snake. all the animals were so close you could smooth the lion cubs through the bars. apparently if we were a couple of months earlier we could of gone in with them, but they are too big now. yesterday we travelled up to suphanburi which is about 2 hours away from sing buri. this is where ... read more

I've now finished my few weeks of teaching and it was just incredible. I taught at a school in Supanburi in quite a remote village. There were no shops, no internet access or anything like that, and hardly any english speakers what-so-ever and even the 'English teacher' at the school had many difficulties. I was teaching 35 children everday between the ages of 6 and 9 with varying levels of English which- as you can imagine was extremely difficult!! I didn't want to be just another one of those people that went to teach and did the abc,123......etc and so the children don't actually learn anything new or fun - as I don't think the children even understood the English they knew- they repeated words and tried to say things when I first arrived and it ... read more
