After a fantastically well deserved sleep we woke up in Pretty petals Guest house and sat watched an elephant walk gracefully past our balcony. Becs and I were havin a few kittens!!. After pinching ourselves a few times we got ready to indulge in the fruits of Goa for breakfast, Ever heard of Chickoo? Its a tasty fruit, which looks pretty non discript but tastes wunderbarr. A peach like furry fruit crossed with a fig, which leaves yer mouth watering. Still feeling a little tired we head off to the beauty salon for a little pampering. Now lets just put you in the picture a little........... just imagine a 1970's taxi booth with electric cables running haphazardly across the floor and ceiling, to fuel the hood dryers and grotty delapidated foot spa. Hi there guys n gals, Sorry we havent made a start with the journal after being here over a week but the electricity in this place is somewhat to be desired. Anyway thanks for all your messages, much appreciated. We intend to get the first week written up in the next few days. Sooooo here goes.............................. We both Woke up at 4.30am to start our adventure and arrived at Heathrow airport. When about to check in we were informed of a 4 hour delay of our flight to Mumbai. Just the news we wanted after 4 hours sleep. This now meant that we would miss our connecting flight to Goa, so the airline very kindly organised an alternative flight. Caught the bus from Panaji out to Candolim, where, using Claire and Davy's trusty guidebook, we found a great place to stay - the first place we looked at! Casa Seashell had rooms with a balcony, a swimming pool (bliss) and a fab restaurant. Took a wander along the 'strip' and down to the beach to find golden sand, clear blue warm water, no other tourists and a huge rusting hulk of a ship just off the shore! It looked like everyone had just bailed out and left it when they hit the sand! We spent 3 days here just chilling out before moving on.... read more
