First we went to the temple of Lord Vighneswara which is situated on the right hand side after entering the temple from its Mahadwar and performed puja to the Lord. Then we proceeded to the main temple and I again purchased a Rudrabhishekam ticket for Rs.100. After darshan of Mahadev, the priest performed sankalpam and after reciting Namakam and performing manasika puja from outside we came out of the Sanctum Sanctorium, taking leave from Mahadev and requesting him to grant another opportunity of visiting Him. My first three weeks working in India are coming to end and there is a lot going on in the entrepreneurship department. The first objective is to start laying the foundation for a larger scale startup incubator through the school. This establishment of such a vehicle would ultimately be a product of a public private partnership, and would utilize the resources of the government, financial players, other local specialty educational institutions and relevant industry players. Undoubtedly, expansion of the current base of incubators and support systems for entrepreneurs requires much greater involvement of the private sector and PPPs to supplement current growth initiatives. The development of more formalized entrepreneurial incubation centers is really in its infancy in India. According to India STEPs and Business Incubators’ Association, in 2006 there were approximately 100 incubator... read more

We started at 7-20 am from Dwaraka after vacating the room and taking leave from Lord Sri Krishna and Sri Nageswara Jyotirling Mahadev. So far, we covered a distance of 4,345 km in our tour. On the way to Somnath, we intended to visit Harsiddhi Matha or Harshad Matha Temple which was at a distance of 80 km from Dwaraka. JYOTIRLINGA TOUR OF AN OLD COUPLE (13) Washing our feet in a small stream near the entrance steps, we entered into the temple complex. There were many doves in the compound and the tourists are feeding them with jowar. A beautiful Sabha Mandapam is there in the compound which appears to have been constructed recently. We entered the Sabha Mandapam and the Sanctum Sanctorium is also part of the Sabha Mandapam. There were many counters selling puja material in the Mandapam. The beautiful Mandapam accommodates more than 300 people and is very neat. We went near the counters and we found that a puja thali with two silver nags is being sold at Rs.251. When enquired it is stated that today was the auspicious day of Naga Panchanmi and performing abhishekam and offering naga padigas to ... read more

JYOTIRLINGA TOUR OF AN OLD COUPLE (12) 24th JULY, 2009 - FRIDAY. Throughout the night it was raining. Morning I again enquired in the Reception. The Receptionist informed that all the roads leading to Dwaraka were cut off on account of heavy rains. No Jeeps are travelling to Bet Dwaraka, Nageswara Jyotirling or to Somnath. Drains, streams and tanks were overflowing on the roads ranging from two to five feet of water and vehicular traffic had come to a halt. It is said that the road to Jamnagar through which we entered Dwaraka was also closed. So, we spent in the room itself seeing TV (fortunately TV is functioning and current is available for most of the time) after performing for an hour our daily puja/parayana of strotrams. During day time also it was raining now ... read more

JYOTIRLINGA TOUR OF AN OLD COUPLE (11) 23rd JULY, 2009 - THURSDAY. Getting up early, I have packed my luggage and came down to vacate the room and to proceed to Dwaraka. In the previous night itself I informed at the reception that I would be vacating the room in the early hours. When I came down I found it was raining heavily. When enquired the security guard informed me that since 1 a.m. it was continuously raining. For a moment I felt whether I should wait for some time till the rain subsides; but immediately removed this idea from my mind and started my journey in that heavy rain itself. Since I have already marked the road that leads to the National High Way to Dwaraka, I had no difficulty in proceeding slowly. As the ... read more

JYOTIRLINGA TOUR OF AN OLD COUPLE (10) 20th July, 2009 - Monday. At 7-30 a.m. we vacated the room in the Hotel Maya International. At the reception surprisingly Mr.Daulatram Lalwani (Mobile No.9414261985) was available and I jokingly informed him that he has to allow Senior Citizen’s discount to me. He asked me how much I would be willing to pay. I told him that it is his prerogative and not mine. He asked me whether I would pay Rs.500. I immediately said yes; as I understood the minimum charge for an AC room was Rs.700/-. So, the lesson to be learnt in tourist places would be we can always bargain Hotel charges depending on the season. In lean periods, lot of discounts would be offered to tourists, which will vary from Hotel to Hotel. Nowadays tourism ... read more
