It is 5 a.m. and I am writing in semi-darkness. Bao is still asleep and has been so since 5 yesterday. Today is the day. Am trying not to have too big of an expectation regarding the much anticipated first meeting of Bao and Jin. Yesterday at the airport while waiting for flights/bags/etc., I tried to talk to Bao about getting a brother. I asked him what he will do when he sees him. I said that Jin is waiting for Bao. Bao said "Hit Jin", swatting at the air in front of him. Then I asked him what he will say when he sees him, and he said "Sorry" which means that he is still planning on the hitting. Hi All, The weather is heating up here now. Very warm and sunny at the moment. Think we may hit 30 degrees today which is great for the end of May. So what's been happening here. We had a quiet weekend last weekend. Stayed in mostly, it rained both days, This week seems to have been the week of traffic incidents. I've seen a very nasty accident involving a motorbike and a bicycle. Quite scary seeing bodies in the middle of the road, people milling around the scene of the accident smoking and debris. The road is the main road from Zhengzhou to Kaifeng and has five lanes. The traffic was just slaloming in and out of the carnage. I think I may have had one of the most hair raising incidents ever. A crazy mini-bus driver flying down an 8 lane motorway in thick fog. It all just seems so strange. Why don't Chinese drivers turn on their lights. Is it really safe to just switch on your hazard lights and think all will be OK. Thankfully the fog has cleared a little this afternoon so hopefully the ride home won't be as scary. ... read more

Leave zhengzhou railway station ,you can take the city bus from zhengzhou to deng feng where is the shaolin temple located.it will take you one hour to there.about the hotel ,do not worry ,it is also cheap ,you can find one hotel less than 200RMB.of course ,if you have a friend there ,it must be very usefull.
