Kwazulu-Natal is big and attractive and whenevr a person thinks of the province they can't help but associate it with the best beaches and ocean views, this province has a long coast which i dare to travel in just a few days. day2 An hour and a half drive to the wildcoast casino which is situated on the entry border of the Eastern cape coming from Kwazulu-Natal, situated not far from the rural homesteads of the Mpondomise people this Casino can not be compared to anything i have seen before. the slot machines are amazing and I almost forgot when to stop gambling, a golf cause next to the Umtamvuna river is a scenery from a distance away, as one have heard golf is only for the presidency well i took my own shot and scored ... read more

For this blog I don’t know where to start my friends. I hate to leave some things out but alas sometimes I have to. I shall start upon my golfing adventure with my dear friend and fellow volunteer Dudley. The previous night we had spent a long night at the Komga Club, a famous spot in Komga known for its prolific braai (barbecue) as well as its occasional late nights of “celebration.” Lucky for us our night was quite a “celebration” as Anne, Dudley and I did not arrive home until about midnight which for us is quite a night. Sunday was a typical morning, waking up at about 8 am to eat scones and prepare for church. After church, Anne, Margaret, Jeff and Suzanne went off to the beach for lunch while Dudley and I ... read more

Today we spending our last day at the Oribi Gorge which makes a spectacular contrast to the beachfront. This reserve is a spectacular vista of the south coast hinterland. This is the centre piece of the scenic , highly popular reserve. Bizarre rock formations, waterfalls, campsites, birdwatching and accommodation are just some of the reserve's attraction. This reserve is the most beautiful mother nature i have ever seen. I can smell and enjoy the beauty of nature. The edge of Gorgr has been turned into an extreme adventure hotspot with the highest abseil at 110 metres alongside a waterfall. we finishing the day at the Ukhahlamba Drankensberg, this region is about the beauty of the mountain range and town set up in its foothills. this attractions are good for adventureous tourists and wild tourists.... read more

Mountains do good things to me. My first few days in the Ukhahlamba Drakensbergin KwaZulu-Natalhave helped me, I am sure of it. Sometimes when I struggle to make sense of my place in the world, or when my depression does its best to drag me down, I just know that it’s time to climb a mountain. So I put on my boots, with my camera bag on my back, and I look skywards. I choose a route, and I start at the beginning. I put one foot in front of the other, and I make slow progress. At first, thoughts race through my head. Why, how, what, where? Questions without answers bombard my brain. My cold body, still chilled from the night, adapts slowly to the gradient. My legs ache and my heart beats rapidly.... read more

Cayley Lodge is one of my favourite places to go in the Berg and one of my favourite holidays. When I went the weather was beautiful. It was cold but the sun was shining. The best is having lunch on your balcony of your Chalet and soaking up the sun with a cool breeze, it is heaven. I think the best time to go is between June-September, this was the time I went and it was just awesome, weather was great and it wasnt packed with people so we could do the tourist things easily.... read more

We left bright and early on a very cold morning when we were headed to Johannesburg in Alberton to my best friends traditional ceremony called "Umemulo" (where when a girl is 21 years or older, a ritual is done and a cow is slaughtered in her presents and a piece of skin of the cow from the leg is cut and put on the girl's right hand and it is called "Isiphandla"). When we got there we had to get ready real quick for the grand entrance of the singing and dancing for the people that were there for my friend Mbali and we were her peers dressedin traditional beaded skirts and vests and "ubuhlalo" (beaded jewellery). The elders came to us throwing money on the floor and attaching on Mbali's hat she had on than ... read more
