My last blog was a few days delayed when I sent it because it wouldn't publish so it may seem time overlaps. I have been on the Sunshine Coast for 9days now and it looks like I will be here for another week or so in Maroochydore. I am staying at Cotton Tree Holiday Park, a big camping ground that is surrounded by the river that opens out to the ocean. With the entire park so close to the water, I have been lucky enough to find a site that has water front views, perfect to watch the sunset and immerse myself in the relaxation that fills my soul. I have been having such a great time as the days slip by slowly, filled with walks on the beach, spending time with friends I made here ... read more

Just a short note to catch up and say hi, because you have followed our journey for 2 years this month since we left melbourne. Now we are on the Sunshine Coast and have decided to stay a while and see if we can make it home. It has been over 9 months since we stopped here and fair to say some good stuff and some not so good but hey, that goes with everywhere. more good than bad of course otherwise why else would we be here? Anyway, here are a few pics to show you how we are getting on, we have bought a house, move in in 5 weeks, feel free to come visit. We have had visitors already this year and it makes it easier spending time with family and friends, others ... read more

Hello Again, Last entry as we are nearly done! This last 6 weeks has felt like 6 months. Well here I sit in sunny Maroochydore except it's teaming down, not happy Jan! The last few days have been quite full as seems to be the way with most of our travels. We left our paradise at Hydeaway and stayed a night at a place called Carmila. The site was perfect on the beach with no wind and no other people next to us, unfortunately this stretch of coast is where the tide disappears for miles. We arrive at low tide and the lads spend the next hour walking out to the water across the mud flats while Tim and I battled zillions of cats eyes, the natural born enemy of the self inflating mattress. Nothing that ... read more

Wednesday 14 July 2010 Last Sunday morning we left Camooweal, the first township you reach having crossed into Queensland from the Northern Territories, and journeyed across Queensland travelling down through Mt Isa, Cloncurry and then turning south onto the Landsborough Highway from the Flinders Highway, to cover another few hundred miles that brought us to the next camping site at a place called Barcaldine. Our journey was pretty uneventful although we did have for the first time on our travels, kangaroos jumping across the road in front of us but I am pleased to report that we have no ‘road kills’ to our credit! Our journey on Sunday brought us through major coal producing areas and one felt very much in the outback in this part of Queensland. Barcaldine turned out to have one of the ... read more

Hello all! Michelle and I started class on Tuesday! Our classes seem very interesting and it looks like they shouldn’t be too hard! I am actually taking a digital photographic practice class, which will be really interesting because I just got my new SLR from my parents for Christmas and I’ll get to learn how to use a lot more of it than I would have trying to teach myself. We have been to the beach a couple of times and we ate some really tasty gelato! Michelle and I got to ride bikes at starbucks to blend drinks, we got the drinks, and we also each got a $5 starbucks gift card! Michelle’s birthday was on Thursday and Ariana and I got her a cake from the local bakery that was yummy! We went to ... read more

We got up at 05:30 and Sophie went out for a ride and to do computrainer. I phoned Chris and talked to him for a little while while Dad and Richard were getting the fishing gear ready. We then all got dressed and headed out for Bribie Island and Pumistone Passage. We grabbed some brekkie en-route and as it kept raining, we looked round loads and loads of shops until we finally found a little newsagents that sold ponchos. We bought three ponchos (and managed to get a discount as they had been there so long) and were then ready to go and get on the boat and start the fishing. We got to the marina and sorted out the boat hire with Robyn. We got everything we needed in the boat and headed out of ... read more

This summer weather had been absolutely wonderful! Yes, it is very hot and humid, but we love it! When we got through baggage reclaim, we found or airport shuttle with a few Germans! We brought SO MUCH stuff compared to them. They each had 1 suitcase and carryon. We had 2 suitcases, a giant backpack, and carryon. Oh well, we stuck out as Americans… taking unnecessary things. It was an hour drive to our apartments and we were freaking out about how they drive on the other side of the road. They pass on the right and merge to the right and can make left turns on red. Our apartments are so nice! We have villa-type things with 4 apartments each and there are a lot of them. We were so jet lagged and sat by ... read more

DAY 371 I knew Andy was out of bed early again it was still dark! Far too early for me so I carried on sleeping except that every now and again I could hear the sound of Andy pottering around outside doing stuff, but I have no idea what. At 6.00 Andy climbed back on the bed to close one of the inner windows as the sun was shining directly onto my head, but secretly I think he wanted to get me up early, but I compromised and said if there is a cup of tea waiting for me at 6.30 I will get up. Agreed, but Andy still talks to me, telling me that he woke up at 4.30 and realised what was wrong with the water pump, he put the pipes the wrong way ... read more

DAY 370 We had today planned out, but of course best laid plans and all of that, we find that time escapes us again. An early start on the day for Andy, which is now becoming a bit too habitual, I sleep until 7.00, my usual time. Andy was sat at the bottom of the bed doing some Internet research on our journey to Wagga Wagga. Again this morning we have to pack everything up and take the trailer with us to Camping Country as Andy will be fitting our water tank today. So we have breakfast, shower, pack up, but anything that we do not need such as chairs and tables, we leave on our site and away we go. First stop is Camping Country to drop the trailer off, we see Jarrod for a ... read more
