Dear all welcome to our new additions to the blog and love to our existing avid readers(we hope!) We left you last heading into perth for 2 weeks, we need to tell you, don't always trust navman as the following story shows. We left GinGin just 50 odd kms north of perth to head in early monday morning so we could set up at the caravan park and take our car for service. So we drove on the highway and suddenly navman tells us to turn right. We thought wrong so we ignored, then it told us 10 kms down the [View Full Entry]

Happy birthday Claudia!

We have just about been travelling for a month when last blog surfaced. Since then we have been Katherine to Darwin. I travelled on the Ghan with my mum Darwin to Adelaide then flew back to Darwin, then we have driven Darwin to Katherine, to Fitzroy Crossing to Broome and all the way down the coast to Perth! Phew! At last some cooler weather and .......rain, well loads of rain but good for the country. So that is 4,500kms for simon and the kids in a month and for me, add in darwin to adelaide and return and my grand total [View Full Entry]

Touching base once more on our long and adventurous journey, I say that because now we have gone inland and north towards darwin and there is not a playground in sight! This provides a problem as we need to wear the kids out if they are to sit through boring historical tours that we want to see. Anyway, we are coping but having just left Daly Water, we are increasingly finding that since we left Townsville it is really hot and dry. We scurry inside after our driving ends about 2pm and while LJ has a sleep, we sit in air [View Full Entry]

It has been a month so a quick update is necessary as we have travelled a fair bit. Hi again to all fraiia's, mcpherson's and friends. We have been in Bundaberg, then Mackay, then Rockhampton, then Airlie Beach, then Townsville, then Mission Beach then Cairns, then Port Douglas and now Walkamin, a small town between Mareeba and Atherton on the Atherton Table lands. A detour inland from our original plan. Firstly, the weather has been nothing short of magnificent. Bit too hot some nights for decent sleep (22 degrees or hotter) but magical days of 25-30 and water temps about 21-24 [View Full Entry]

Here we are only 3 weeks from the last entry yet sooooo much has occurred in our travellin' lives. We left Brisbane early on fri 4th May to get going to noosa and onto bundy on schedule for Simon's request. We didnt make it to Bundy until later in May, below you will see why. Firstly, hi again to everyone tuned in, we love the feedback we get and enjoy any comments (good or bad) to have a laugh over. Our first hurdle was to get the big white whale down the drive it went up in Brisbane. I video taped [View Full Entry]

we drove 700km from port macquarie to bathurst and all of us felt sick over the mountains on the oxley highway to tamworth. tamworth has a very pretty main street. just what jock had in mind for numurkah all those years ago i am sure. simon did some work at bathurst base hospital for 10 days. claudia and simon particularly had a great time at the fossil and rock exhibition in the old school building. a guy called warren somerville has put his lifetime collection of rare rocks and minterals and a caste of tyranosaurus rex into a neat exhibition. the [View Full Entry]
