Another sunny day dawned ....strettttch, what a way to live! Decided to walk to Surfers along the beach today ...lovely walk but didn't like Surfers ...too many people !! Met Bruce and walked to his apartment (27th floor with beach views) and had lunch at his place. Headed off to see Pelicans being fed by a fish & chip owner who feeds fish heads etc to the pelicans every day at 1.30pm. Fascinating. Walked to the lighthouse at the end of the Spit and then had an ice cream. Bruce had to go to work ...oh dear ...we caught a bus back to Broadbeach to relax.... read more

I’ve never been much of a runner. Whilst I do enjoy running once I am out there and in the moment, it’s that inherent laziness that stops me getting out there. Something always hurts, whether it’s a leg muscle or my head, there is always an excuse. So off the back of getting reasonably fit over a nice Melbourne summer and completing the 15km fun run at the start of April, it made logical sense to complete a 20 week marathon program that took me to the Gold Coast Marathon on 5 July 2009. It was a big moment last night - the final hoorah for my historic journey before I’m auctioned. Among the invited guests was Sandy Tomlinson who designed both “Auntie Lynn’s dress of many Magical Scarecrows” and… me! Auntie Lynn screened the DVD that has been produced of The Magical Scarecrows LET’S MAKE MAGIC FOR A DAY event this year at Dreamworld. Watch out for that as it will be commercially available through The Magical Scarecrows website soon. Everyone in attendance also received a special vintage bottle of champagne with the strictly limited edition label “Journey’s End”, featuring snaps of some of the biggest celebs to have signed me. It's Sunday on a quiet weekend with a public holiday tomorrow so a lazy day. I spent the morning around the pool and in the afternoon went to see Wolverine at the cinema and bought a replacement camera.... read more

Off to visit the first of the many theme parks in the Gold Coast area, this one is Sea World and yes I believe it's linked to the American one in Florida. We met up with Lil and drove down to the park. I've taken lots of pictures but most aren't very good - dolphins move much too quickly. By the time you see them coming out of the water and start to aim the camera they are already back under the water. Lots of pictures of splashes with no dolphins in sight, but that's the great thing about digitial camera you can just take as many pictures as you want without having to worry about wasting film.
