Well we all managed to make it to New York after a lot of flying and a few dramas. Nic, Lou, Ron and Jax flew from vegas to LA to meet up with the rest of the crew minus jenny who was flying out of vegas directly the next morning. Unfortunately our flight was delayed an hour so we ended up arriving in LA at 11pm. Lou was on a different flight to the rest of the crew and her flight left at 11.40pm so she made a mad dash from terminal 1 at LAX to terminal 4 (the furthest one away of course) to try to make her plane but ended up missing it. The rest of us had checked in through security and had boarded our plane and Lou found herself alone at LAX ... read more

Here I am, I will write this one in english for my many friends who don't speak French.... As you can see, I just arrived in New York, where I stay at Anne Helene's, my best friend. So I am twice as excited to be in this great city with this great friend of mine. Anne is currently studying art history so my activities so far have been mostly cultural : art galleries in Chelsea, Metropolitan Museum of Arts and National Gallery... I am staying on Greenwich village which is a nice area with plenty of shops, restaurants, and whatever else you might need. Also, yo my surprise : IT IS COLD HERE, it even snowed a little bit this morning, which was such a shock after the two weeks I spent In Miami ....I ... read more

Alright, here we are, finally up on travelblog. Lisa and I are heading to Europe in, eek, only 40 days for a 10 week adventure to see as much of Europe as possible. We aim to visit 13 countries (Britain, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, and France). We're, probably crazy for planning such a fast paced journey, but we hope to see it all. Eh, a little about ourselves...Lisa and I have been best friends forever, and we both love to travel. Together, we went on an 11 day tour of Mexico (for spanish club, back in the high school days), spent a semester of college in Australia (Fall of 2004) followed by a one week tour of New Zealand's south island, and our most recent (or not ... read more

We took a late flight out of London on Thursday and arrived in New York full of anticipation. Both Liani and I had wanted to visit New York and were both very excited about our four days in the big apple. We jumped a yellow cab into Manhattan and arrived at our very beautiful hotel - Le Parker Méridien overlooking Central Park. As it was our first stay in New York I had requested a room with a view over Central Park - the next morning we weren't disappointed and woke to what is one of the most amazing views in New York. Central Park is so vast, right in the heart of the city and is very beautiful. So first morning off to breakfast at Norma’s - the place to go for breakfast in NYC ... read more

I miss the simple, non-materialistic life we had while traveling. It was so nice to not use our cell phones, despite the fact that we both turned them on as soon as we landed in NY - so pathetic. It was also nice to not put make-up on or dry our hair once in two weeks. Overall, I was unbelievably happy with this trip. It was educational in so many ways for me and truly an eye-opener in many different ways as well. I LOVED meeting new people in all the cities we visited...it was so fasicnating to learn about their lives and different cultures and I was beyond envious of their long travel schedules and how they had taken the time ... read more

For some reason, we were under the impression that New York City would be toasty in March. However, Kev's uncle and aunt in San Fran warned us (like any good Chinese relatives would) that we would freeze in our current wardrobe, and so Elle ventured out with a SWAT-style puffy vest supplied by my aunt from her unwanted collection. We arrived at JFK in the late afternoon and were stunned by the freezing wind... the puffy vest was indeed required this week! Our first NY subway journey and our first set of many turnstiles took us to West 96th station, where we were hit in the face with the smell of Dettol. Still haven't figured out why... Up the stairs, and by the time we got our first glimpse of New York it was dark, and ... read more

Hello all! So we've been in Manhattan for two weeks now and are having a wonderful wonderful time! The whole time in New York we've felt like we were in millions of films and TV programmes - at first sesame street and crocodile dundee (lost in crowds) and then more and more like we are in Sex and the City. And so I got to wondering in the city that never sleeps have new york women replaced having children with caring for very small dogs and dressing them up like babies? Meanwhile on the Upper East Side: Day Three - Where everybody knows your name. We explored Harlem today and went in what will apparently be the biggest cathedral in the world St john the Divine - its not as big as the vatican but very ... read more

UntitledLisa Rae Well guys I have finally done it, here I am in New York City!! After staying up all night and being accompanied to the airport by Megan and Jen (thank you girls!! I am still upset that the airport bar wasn't open for pints at 5am) I arrived in New York in one piece. Temporarily lost my luggage but got it now thank god! So I'm camping on Kimmy's floor in her cool wee pad in New Jersey just over the river from Manhatten. I'm having such a great time, new York is awesome, just like the movies but bigger and better. It's quite hot during the day too, hopefully won't take to long to lose my white glow. Kim has been working during the week so I have been exploring on my own ... read more
