Completement fou. Mardi : On est allées: visiter l'esposition "the Bodies". C'est une expo sur le corps humain, où l'on peut voir tout le corps humain sous toutes ... read more

OD A very long day yesterday was for us. After deciding to come off the trail, we went to Culperer, VA, and jumped on a train that departed within an hour of our showing up at the station. While at the station we called "Manhattan Bear Slayer" to see if we could spend a night at his place as the train arrived too late to connect with anything headed to upstate. He was delighted to hear from us and graciously opened his home to us. We arrived in Penn Station at 11:30PM to see him standing on the platform waiting on us. He carried CC's pack for her and we walked the three blocks to his apartment. His wonderful wife was there waiting with a delicious dinner for us, then a warm bed. This morning ... read more

New York Thursday April 12 We checked out of the hotel and caught a cab to Reagan National Airport for our flight to New York. We went to the self service check in, but was given a message to go to Customer service. We were then told by a very indifferent American Airlines employee that our flight had been cancelled. We asked if he could re book us, but his response was “No, get in the line over there”. Jeff was really annoyed, and asked him when the flight had been cancelled. His reply was “What difference does it make, it’s cancelled now”. Jeff was furious and asked for the guys name, and unsurprisingly, he refused to give it…what a loser! We lined up in a line that was not very long but, but that ... read more

Travel to IstanbulJoel SchroederI left from LAX last night just a bit before midnight and landed at JFK around 8am, beginning a long day of waiting...our flight to Istanbul departs at 6:45pm. Rick and Kathy, the rest of the crew, were delayed out of Portland and got in at 10am. We went to a nearby Howard Johnson hotel to relax in a room since we've got so much time. Luckily, our hotel in Istanbul will be much nicer, as we have rooms at the Four Seasons. Back at the airport, we were able to hang out in the Korean Air executive lounge, which was nice because of the drinks, snacks, and internet. We won't land until about noon on Tuesday, Istanbul time.... read more

Last day in NY, and the States...... crying. But Ana and I (Kate) have just been to Tiffany's, mooching down 5th ave, Prada, Gucci, Chanel, YSL all the money...... and then, right by Central park poped up a little clear box with an apple in it. Stroll down the spiral staircase into the Mac store where the cool computer geeks live (lacking in sugar, seriously I've been floored by the general NY male population) and just thought it would be ideal to write a blog entry because well hey this cute little MacBook just happened to be spare (there are about 100 just kicking round for everyone to use) Dad would be in HEAVEN (do it when you come) and Mum leave him here while you shop down the road. They've thought of it all. About ... read more

Yes - I've been poor at updating the blog since Oz but who cares? We've been too busy having a great time! However, the end is in sight and thanks to Emily it's now easier to get online and add some info and photos. We'll try and get it up to date ASAP, but will add more photos to the entries at a later stage. Hope everyone is well and we'll be back soon!!! (BOO HOO!)... read more

So this was our final week in manhattan - on tuesday we get the train to montreal. We've started to feel really at home here and this week we've been experiencing lotsof nighlife and imagining we live in NY. Day Fifteen - Oh dear. I wrote the fringe roadshow we were helping out with down as today when it was actually yesterday. The kind folks at the public theater let us sit in the empty room for over an hour until we twigged. At least it wasnt one of the talks we're leading. We found a great bar on Macdougall st which had live rhythm and blues of really great quality - also there were people there. Day Sixteen - Another relative of Sam's: Linda very kindly showed us round the MET gallery where she works ... read more
