Mark and I had reached a defining moment in our relationship – we were planning a day at Disney World. Through his work connections, Mark scored a pair of Disney park hopper tickets. Within an hour, I had dinner reservations made in the park. This was going to be awesome. Part One – Hollywood Studios Donning Star Wars t-shirts, Mark and I headed off to Hollywood Studios. Since he’s not too much of a ride guy, I thought Mark would enjoy the shows and character experiences in HS. Our first stop, however, was just for me. Like a gentleman, Mark walked with me through the queue of my favorite HS ride, the Tower of Terror. I love the lobby, expertly covered in dust and cobwebs. We parted at the loading platform, where he was escorted down ... read more

That was our plan yesterday. What better place to celebrate our 52nd anniversary? Disney's Magic Kingdom. A place "Where All Your Dreams Come True". Perfect. So put on you Mickey Mouse ears and get ready for a magical day. Our original plan started off much simpler. Cory was taking me to Disney Springs for my most favorite tuna melt at the Earl of Sandwich. Sounded wonderful to me....I love their tuna melt, remember? Half way there, he mentioned we hadn't been to Disneyworld's Magic Kingdom in 20 years. Are you kidding me? --- that long! We have had annual passes for Universal Studios over these past few years ...so maybe. It was 12:30 PM.....too late to go? Never! Even though, when we used to take our family to DW, Cory had us up at the crack ... read more

On the road again. Our family is all safely home so we gather up Sam & Sandy and hit the highway. Jump aboard....no pushing: you all have your reserved seats. And we're off! Lulu is so excited. She hadn't had a lot of opportunity to do everything she wanted to these past couple weeks. Tim & Conner don't find her as fascinating as some of us so to keep the peace in the family, she sadly stayed back when normally she would be driving the team. She is one considerate soul...but you all know that already. It's time to eat again! Seems like that is all we've done here all winter. If you think one of me is enough; I have doubled in size to make two of me. Now what do you think about that? ... read more

We duplicated yesterday's plan of attack. We hustled to Animal Kingdom 30 minutes before opening with 5000 other people. Ugh. We again, zigged and zagged through crowds to make it to the safari mainly for Elizabeth who wanted to see the animals. It is another attraction that has long lines. We made our way into the line and never stopped. We got to the front and a guy asked me if we waited long. I said that we had never stopped. He asked if we were in the huge crowd? I told him we were at the gate before they opened. I asked him if he waited ... read more

Another amazing day at Epcot. Everything went so smoothly. We were so worried about Spring Break and the crowds. It really wasn't that bad and Disney just knows how to herd people, feed people and make people happy. We left at 8 AM to arrive in the lot before 8:30 AM and be at the gate before it opened At 9 AM. Apparently, a lot of people got that memo. I, once again, told everyone to trust me and when I say run.....RUN!! Once we filtered through the check-in, I said, "Run!"  We bolted for Test Track. After running around all day yesterday, we all wanted to sleep in and swim and relax today. Good day for it. Matthew, Paul and I got up around 8 and lounged around. The other two woke 10/10:30 and all three hit the pool. Well Ben and I worked out (training for track...him, not me). Then they were all in the pool. They didn't get out but to scarf a late breakfast poolside and a late lunch poolside. Never even dried off. We all swam. Paul played Marco Polo with them. Fortunately, the family climbed on board the Momma Train and trusted me once again. We got to the park at 8 AM. Parking was super easy. I knew we also needed to adjust our lifetime tickets to accommodate the fact that Ben and Elizabeth are now adult tickets. They do this for free. Yay! It took a few minutes. This is my second Easter away from home, both with Paul (first time in Vegas). To our surprise, the Easter Bunny found us in the Townplace Suites and hid jellybeans all over (carefully). We went to 8 AM mass. It was actually a pretty good mass. The priest was young and funny. We decided on the 8 AM to avoid the larger crowds. We went to breakfast after and then hit the road to Orlando. We left in light rain and drove about 45 minutes in heavier rain. We drove out of it and we cleared ... read more

You are really going to like this new place where we are going....IF you like seafood. Sam's PT guy gave them the low-down on it and our foursome eagerly ventured to it, located near the Florida Mall. It is Fabulous! It is called Bar Harbor Seaford. It is a very large building because they are wholesale distributors for fresh, frozen and live seafood. You might even see their delivery trucks cruising this area of Orlando and around. At one very small corner of this mega building is a little room for their display and order counter. They do the preparation of your lunch order here also. You eat outside under a few umbrella picnic tables. It is very casual...not formal! No fancy, dancey gowns needed here. Their hot lunch menu is served 11-3 on Mon. thru ... read more

Do I have your curiosity? Hope so. So come along with us while we explore some new tourist attractions here in Orlando on International Drive. We've been waiting a long time for this and they have finally opened since we left Florida last year. Yippee. Lulu was jumping up & down (best she could) with excitement. She's such a jolly gal. Where we are heading is to The Eye of Orlando. It is a humongous, giant, monster size Ferris Wheel. You are lifted in capsules (gondolas) 400 feet high. They are all glass so you have a 360 view from anywhere inside the capsule. There are 30 of these gondolas on this enormous wheel. If the weather is clear, you can see Port Canaveral from it.....57 miles away. The Eye is the tallest observation wheel on ... read more
