Whew! Made it.....well kind of. The story will be told....of course you know that. Sometimes you always save the best for last but we don't think the Magic Kingdom is the best park out of the four we recently visited. We are glad it was our last. Just our opinion. Maybe we have been here too many times so we are kind of bored with it. OR maybe it is the trillions of folks who crowd into it....most with babies and kids (it is a kids park, remember) all in oversized strollers. By the time we arrive (late morning), all these kids are tired and hungry and could care less about being in the unending, hour plus lines. They are all crying and screaming....some are in full blown temper tantrums. It's not a pretty picture. Most ... read more

Everyone, we are still on the Park Prowl.....now it's time to go to Disney' Hollywood Studios. It used to be called MGM Studios a few years back. For some reason, it changed its name. I could always "google" that for you but we want to keep this interactive so you can check it out yourself. Us, we don't really care why. Remember, Google is your Friend"......that's what our daughter Lory, always says. Another perfect day to wander the miles and miles of entertainment available at this park. Again, our friends, Fran & Connie(experts on Disneyworld) had highlighted a guide designating the best places to see and things to do while here. Boy, does that help. First thing we did was to go to the Fast Pass Kiosks. We had not done this for the previous 2 ... read more

Because we are going to travel around the world today, we have to make this a single blog. Otherwise, it would take you 180 days just to read everything we have been up to. They will follow in future blogs. Of course, you already know all that since you accompany us on our adventures. Hail, Hail, The Happy Wanderers. Forget any dates....I don't even know what day today is...let alone the date. Remember how we all went to Disney's Animal Kingdom? That was fun, wasn't it? After that park, Epcot Center was next on our dance card. So much to see, so much to do. Some venues were new to us but we quickly recalled many familiar places we had been to years ago. First, we went on a ride with Nemo. I love Nemo! Lots ... read more

Over Christmas, my family and I went on the holiday of a lifetime. On the 16th of December we embarked on a 2-week trip to Orlando, Florida. My husband and I spent a year there 14 years ago, before we had the kids, and we were so excited to go back now to share this warm and wonderful holiday paradise with them. Matthew and Noelle, who are both 8 years old, were so excited. With child-friendly adventure parks, fun shopping experiences and American-style dining, Orlando is such a great family-destination, so we were excited to go back as a family and to experience this great place with them! And we were not disappointed. Our two weeks in the 'Sunshine State' was the most action-packed family fun we've ever had, we created some of the most fantastic ... read more

Disney World You might think that giving a trip to Disney World, as a Christmas gift, to a 4 year old is extravagant and you wouldn't be alone as I thought the same when Kellie proposed this. Her logic was that we dragged the poor child across the world for 6 months, had endless fun, great experiences, amazing food, adventures, beach, loads of ice cream and so on. Obviously you have to say sorry for that. Well lets not linger on that for too long. I might have enjoyed it a little too… Our adventure started well. We had a nights sleep in Orlando and we wandered to the front desk inquiring where we could get discounted tickets (hey you should know me by now). And wasn't there just the man to help us. American/Italian salesman ... read more

Since the date entry on these blogs doesn't work any more, hope it is clear that we went to Disney World in June of last year. My parents and I took our two oldest nephews to Disney World in 2014, so now it was time for their younger siblings to go. Originally I had just planned to take my mom and her cousin, but the cousin backed out and we were like, let's still go. Then as we thought on it, we thought we should take my niece. E was super excited and she is such a little princess - my only niece for four years, I couldn't wait to play with her at Disney. O was not even three yet when we went, but children under 3 get in for free, so, all it really ... read more

Geo: 28.3748, -81.5492Walt Disney used shell companies to buy up huge areas of cheap Orlando land in the 60's. He opened his first park in 1971 and I think this was the catalyst for the incredible tourist developments that have sprung up since. It's a bit of a challenge gaining an understanding of Orlando's theme parks. Disney and Universal are the big boys in town, plus a host of smaller others. Disney has four main parks: Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Each of these is a stand-alone park in its own right with a pricey daily entrance fee of USD 100 or so. Universal is similar (four main parks) except their 'Islands of Adventure' park contains seven sub-parks. Mind-boggling!Many of the visitors we spoke to were Disney regulars who knew the rides and therefore ... read more

Geo: 28.3903, -81.4711Great to be back in warm sunshine and wearing shorts again! Came through Atlanta which is now the world's busiest airport by passenger movements. Incredible place with so many people moving about efficiently! Incidentally, Memphis (home of FedEx) is the second busiest cargo airport in the world. Our 2BR WorldMark apartment is very spacious and well located on International Dr, one of the arterial streets in tourist Orlando, a broad strip about 20km long south of the CBD.We bought a trolley 24-hour ticket that allows anytime hop-on hop-off on the couple of loops between Universal Studios in the north and Walt Disney World further south. There's an App that shows you where the next trolley is and estimates how long before it reaches your stop. Very useful! Orlando seems to be mostly about resorts and ... read more

It's our last full day at Disney, and I didn't expect to feel sad about that. I'd assumed we'd have fun on this trip, but, by the end, we'd be exhausted and ready to go home. Instead, I find myself wishing we had more time. There's still so much to see and do! Today is our day at Animal Kingdom. One of my oldest, closest friends, Stasa, lives in Miami, and so she drove up to spend the day with us at Animal Kingdom. Back in college, she'd had a Disney internship, and so she knows the parks well. Phuong and I once came down to visit her when she was working. I think that was back in 2003! I remember we went to Magic Kingdom, Downtown Disney (now Disney Springs), and we briefly stopped at ... read more

It's the week before Thanksgiving, and all of the resorts are getting decorated for the holidays! One of the resorts I wanted to check out, if we had the time, was the Grand Floridian. I'd heard that they build a life-size gingerbread house every year, and they run it as a candy shop! We took Friday off from the parks as a day to rest. I'm so glad we did because I woke up feeling sick. I was feverish and felt chilled to the bone, and it felt as if all the lymph nodes in my head were swollen, making it difficult to breathe and swallow. It also felt like someone was repeatedly stabbing the inside of my ears with a pin. Miserable. I took a couple ibuprofen and a hot bath, and then I felt ... read more
