Everyone, we are still on the Park Prowl.....now it's time to go to Disney' Hollywood Studios. It used to be called MGM Studios a few years back. For some reason, it changed its name. I could always "google" that for you but we want to keep this interactive so you can check it out yourself. Us, we don't really care why. Remember, Google is your Friend"......that's what our daughter Lory, always says.
Another perfect day to wander the miles and miles of entertainment available at this park. Again, our friends, Fran & Connie(experts on Disneyworld) had highlighted a guide designating the best places to see and things to do while here. Boy, does that help.
First thing we did was to go to the Fast Pass Kiosks. We had not done this for the previous 2 parks because we thought you had to pay extra for them...you do at Universal Studios...big bucks. Not at Disney...they are free! WOW! At these Kiosks, you select the prime ride or show you want to see and select a time. You just have to show up there at your chosen time, get in the Fast Pass line and you slip right along into the
attraction....easy as that.
But, of course, for us there was a snag. Of course, you say in unison. When we ordered our fast passes, I didn't run both of our cards through so the Fast Pass was good for only one guest! CORY. Rats! I was left out in the cold....actually the burning heat. The supervisor was called over, listened to our plight and obviously felt sorry, or just is used to this, for this old senior citizen couple. Sometimes, old age can be good. We try and tell ourselves that it has its perks, occasionally. This time it was good. They gave us 4 extra paper passes to use (for me) at the various attractions we had selected. Thank you, Disney.
And now we were off. It wasn't easy getting all of your tickets either. There are 113 of you and they thought we all couldn't ride together. I explained the circumstance and then, there was no problem. You really don't take up as much room as people might think. Many of the shows were musicals with beautiful scenery and costumes. We saw Frozen, Beauty & The Beast and The Little Mermaid. There was a lot of
Star Wars entertainment going on around the park. We rode on a Toy Story Arcade Ride...I won! We watched a 4-D show of the Muppets. We did a lot.......exhaustion. Whew! my Fitbit started buzzing early on.
We got on one of their (Star Wars) rides where you sat in a small theater and watched a 3-D Movie. The seats jostled and violently shook throughout this ride. They told you to put your knapsack or carry bag under the seat so you would not lose it. After the torturous ride, Cory reached down for our bag. NO BAG! OMG! My IPad is in it! My life line to the world. Everything I do and breath is in it! I'm dead. Good bye everyone! Cory got down on his hands and knees in a very tiny area....looking, looking, reaching, feeling, searching. NOTHING! I'm nauseated and weak. The next group of people for this ride are trying to come in. They begin rushing and trampling in Cory's direction. Save Him, Save Him! At that moment, at woman down in the front row (we were in the furthest back row) hollers "Is this your bag?" Hallelujah! Cory jumps up just before he is
Frozen' Theater
Ic Cream served out of this dinosaur trampled to death and launches himself to the woman who is holding OUR bag! Oh, thank you lady! Blood begins to recirculate in my body. I feel alive again. Life will go on. We figure that all the jiggling and rocking on this ride made our bag flip and flop out of its storage area and end up way at the front row. Yikes. What a close call. Lots of "what if's" but no sense even thinking about them. My hero, Cory, saved the day by almost giving his life for my IPad. I owe him big time. And so do you cause otherwise there would a major problem doing our blog.....pictures would be gone and so much more. We are just lucky and fortunate. Disney confirmed its sign "Where your Dreams Come True" and prayers, too, cause I was really praying we would find our bag. Give me an Amen, Brothers & Sisters.
Fortunately, or maybe not......our appetite returned so we started checking out various eateries. We found a terrific restaurant called Prime Time Cafe. It was styled with a 1950's theme. You sat to dine in their kitchens or living rooms or dining rooms...all decorated with items
from homes during that decade. Oh, we would have felt so much like being at home here. It was so cute and fun looking. Only problem, you needed reservations made from almost a year ago and a bank vault to pay for their delicacies. It would have been such fun, though. Instead, we entered in through their "finished basement bar" area and took a few pictures so you could see what you missed out on. Sniff, Sniff. Just be glad we got you all into the park. No more whining, please.
We kept moving. We came to an old boat (it was an original but now I forget the story behind it...sorry) docked on a small pond located in the center or of this park. They sold hot dogs....okay. $10.95! You have to be kidding me. Think how many packages of hot dogs you could buy for just this one...just think. There is nothing cheap in these parks except for the Free Fast Passes and the Free International Coca Cola samples over at Epcot. However, we noticed the size of the hot dog. Ginormous! One to be split for sure. They were actually chili dogs, which is not one
Frozen: Let It Go.......
Snowing inside the theater of our favorites, so Cory asked for a plain dog. Better yet, price dropped to $8.95. And even better yet, it was delicious. Life is good. HOT DOG, HOT DOG....GET YOUR HOT DOG HERE!
Of course, this park drew a lot of kids. Many of their favorites are in this magical world. Kids mean strollers. Thousands and thousands of strollers. All shapes, sizes and kinds. They are parked in that special stroller parking lot that I told you about before. The attendant was super busy moving these buggies all around. Our friend, Fran, calls the BIG strollers: trucksters. He couldn't be more right. They fill an entire walkway. Sometimes you find half a family cruising around inside these strollers. Size doesn't matter here!
Our day drew to an end when the temperature got so hot we couldn't stand it anymore. I know we shouldn't complain cause soon enough there will only be chills in the air once we are back home. But, unless you are in a swimming pool or air conditioning during these very hot spells, you are cooked meat. Lulu was lucky she stayed back. She has difficulty cooling herself with no sweat glands. We had
seen and done enough including the extra stress we suffered through (only 1 Fast Pass & Lost Bag). It all ended good and that is what we wish for all of you. Have a Good Day....Everyday. One more park to go. Meet you at Disneyworld's Magic Kingdom.
