We had a wonderful visit with my sister and moved North to Orlando where niece Karen and husband Nick live....right across the street from Thousand Trails Orlando RV resort. This was our first meeting with their four-year old daughter, Julia. What a sweet little girl. Our visit was extended when my brother Rick and wife Pat broke away from their jobs in Atlanta to see us. It's been a long time since we've been together and this was a great visit! We decided to leave Florida via the beaches. Unfortunately the Florida beaches are so popular that last minute reservations don't get you much. We've landed at Flagler beach for a few days. The beach is beautiful. Bulow Plantation and RV Resort is beautiful but run down (an Encore park.) We are headed through Charlotte NC ... read more

Last couple of days have flow past we spent yesterday at Magif Kingdom and I mean all day yesterday. We started early arriving at 10am and then got in line for Daisy, and then wandered around until lunch. Most of the rides are a little more tame then other parks as we are in the kids section but we all had a great day getting to all the high spot in frontier land and tomorrow land and other cool rides, Buzz lighyear spinner ride awesome you get to ride and shot great combo. The 3d was great again in some of the other rides but not as good as Bugs life. We have start to relax and today our last at Disney was great, the girls spent the day in the pool while we washed clothes ... read more

So last night was goodand bad, Bad because Olando lost, good because we went to the basketball and it was fun really fun. We left the hotel at about 5pm got a taxi out the front and after a 45min taxi ride we arrived at the Amway Centre and sat down to watch the game which starts at 7pm. We got all the pre game stuff and games and all the other stuff like the $50,000 half court shot and the tv give away and other stuff like the obvious cam where they shoot your picture on the big screen for everyone to see and wait until you notice. 2min was the record and he got a round of applause from the crowd. Note. Orlando lost 109-81 to Atlanta This morning we got ready for Universal ... read more

Figured I would keep a journal of my journey. Today marks 5 months from when my husband passed away. In 4 weeks, I will travel to Madrid and run in the Rock N Roll marathon and reflect on my life with BC and how the hell I am going to move forward. I truly feel he put this race in front of me as he knew I would grab onto it because of all the signs. He was a musician (its a Rock n Roll race), we were planning our first trip to Spain, and I was planning on running one last marathon but the deal was he had to be at the finish line. Training for this race has kept me so busy and focused. Because of my competitiveness and determination, training is truly the ... read more

Atlanta Braves Road Game - Monday – March 19th Hello for Palm Beach Garden (at the hotel). This is the last day that we go to a baseball game, so it means our vacation is rapidly winding down. There are still another couple of days, but the reality of the situation is beginning to hit us. Of course, the up side is that we are anxious to get home and see the family back there. We had a relatively early departure this morning, so once again we could not sleep very late. We got up and had another full breakfast. However today, Janet got the cook to prepare French Toast. She ordered one slice of French Toast and one egg-over-medium, and she got two of each. David had his pancakes and omelet. With juice, ... read more

PhotoBike Tour 13: Leu Gardens and Winter Park (Foliage photos by Kirk… click on them to make them BIGGER.) See those beautiful plants? It’s a raft of bromeliads that were for sale at the Leu Gardens Annual Spring Plant sale today. Kirk rounded up a bunch of people to go “in the morning, early, so we can find parking,” and I do recall a voice at 8:30 saying that he was on his way, that he would let me sleep, and here’s your coffee. See ya later! Codicil: I've been up very late this week watching episodes of Downton Abbey on Netflix. AND I've had a lot of organizing work to do as well... so this morning maybe, maybeeeee I was a litt... read more

Disney at last. Right now (as I write) I am poolside at Disney All-Star Sports Resort. The one vacation destination I said I never wanted to go to again yet I am very excited to be here. Four more hours of drving this AM. We said goodbye to Tallahassee and a flock of new friends with the Tallahassee Parrothead Club. Jimmy did a good show last night. The Leon Center at FSU is a pretty intimate indoor venue, clearly built for basketball and noticeably smaller than the Centrum or the Garden. It was a pretty safe set-list and he didn’t seem to put the energy into it that he gives at a Great Woods show. Linda got all the way down to the floor, sixth row!! Not a lot happened yesterday outside of the JB ... read more

Harry Potters' Wizarding World of Adventure is one of the islands found in Universal Studios Islands of Adventure Theme Park, a sister park to Universal Studios. Being a massive Harry Potter fan, it just wasn't possible for me to visit Orlando and not visit this little treausure. There were many places selling tickets, including day, week and combination passes. We actually bought our passes in Walmart which seemed to be the cheapest option if visiting for just one day. The park was easy to find, and there was no wait to get into the parking area, which is several high-rise parking areas with escalators to the main park entrance. Yet again, to actually get into the park, there was no wait, which was brilliant as memories of DisneyLand as a child brought back dread of hour ... read more
