" When we got to the hotel in San Diego we met Avo Jay and went to Sea World. It was the best. We saw Shamu the killer whale and saw so much fun stuff. Sunday we went to the San Diego Zoo. My favorite animal was a Meerkat. Now we went home. That was a fun trip even though some bad things happened, it was still a good trip." - Sofia We said our goodbye's to Lara, Ralf, and Milan early and headed for the border. We heard that it could take a few hours to cross as it is the worlds busiest border crossing. We arrived in the line after a bit more than 1.5 hours and then it was almost 2 hours in line in the car. Daddy thought that they were going ... read more

"On Tuesday it wasn't really a good day because I threw up because I got food poisoning from this restaurant called Mustafa. Only 3 of us got it, but I am fine now. Then Wednesday we just stayed at the hotel at the pool. We played soccer and had a little picnic by the pool. Now it is Thursday, it was not a good day either because I lost my ipod. I cried so much that my eyeballs almost fell out. But we went to one of the best restaurants in Mexico called Laja. It was very good. When we got back to the hotel we packed. Friday we left Mexico but that was not the end of the trip because we were going to San Diego to see my grandpa Jay." - Sofia After a ... read more

"On Monday we went whale watching. We were searching for Grey Whales. We saw a lot. We went to a seafood restaurant and it was soooo good. We had lobster." - Sofia On our 3rd full day in Baja, it was time to leave the Guadulope Valley and go to Ensenada. We decided to go whale watching and after convincing Milan that it would be fun(parents bought him a super hero mask), we took off on a 3-4 hour boat ride. It took about 1 hour to get out to the islands where the grey whales were migrating. I had a great time seeing whales on our trip last summer to Iceland so I was really looking forward to doing it again. On the way out, daddy and I played with pringles and shot some funny ... read more

"Over Spring Break I went to Baja Mexico with my dad, it was awesome! The first day we got there we got our friends from the airport and went to the hotel called Boutique (I think). Then we went to this taco place. It was really good. The next day we went the supermarket to buy things we needed. I bought a doughnut. On Saturday, we went to a couple wineries and my dad bought wine, and lots of it. Sunday we went to only 2 wineries and then stayed at the hotel. We went in the pool and went to the foosball room." - Sofia Time for another trip out of the country, and this time to our neighbor, Mexico. It was my first time there and my 52nd country. I was also to visit ... read more

2012 was a great year! I continued my travels all over the world. This year I spent Spring Break in Transylvania, Romania with a stop over in NYC and Paris. So cool learning about Dracula, skiing for my first time, and going up the Eiffle tower. I also took some long weekend trips to Panama and El Salvador and was so glad that Daddy took Vitor as well. The big trip of the year was to Iceland and Greenland. Wow, what an adventure. Lenny and Maddy joined us for the first part of that trip. Icebergs, Whales, Snowmobiles, Volcanoes, Glaciers, Fishing, Shrimp Factory, Puffins, Hot Springs. and incredible waterfalls. All those trips are in other blogs, but definitely the some of the highlights of the year. I now have been to 51 countries!!! When Daddy was ... read more

After a great time in Santa Barbara, it was time for Hollywood. So after dropping of Avo' Jay and Roz at the Goldman's, we drove to Amanda's place. It was not a long drive and when we got there Amanda and her friend Angela gave me a really cool present. It was a thinkg to make friendship bracelets and we started right away to make them. We then orderes some Indian food for delivery and daddy walked to a store to get some wine while I was doing the bracelets with Amanda and Angela. The Indian food was very spicy and yummy. Not too much longer it was time to go to bed as we were going to Universal Studios the next day. So we woke up, had some breakfast and were off to Universal Studios. ... read more

After a great Thanksgiving, we woke up and Daddy and I grabbed bagles and lox to bring back for breakfast. Yummy. Then Daddy, Roz, Avo' Jay and I drove up to Santa Barbara. It was a beautiful drive with a lot of it right by the Pacific Ocean. Daddy said it was a lot colder than the beaches in Florida. Daddy had been looking forward to getting back to Santa Barbara as that is where he lived for 5 years during college at UCSB (University of California at Santa Barbara). He really love that school. We first drove to the city of Santa Barbara and headed right for the pier. It was a little foggy. I had fun throwing money off the pier and trying to make it into the target. Daddy thought it was creative ... read more

So after less than 24 hours in Thousand Oaks, we left for Calabasas, the place where we were going to celebrate Thanksgiving. I was very excited, as I remembered dancing with one of my cousins, Bryce, at Julie's wedding. I was really looking forward to seeing Avo' Jay and meeting his girlfriend Roz. We arrived at Aunt Susan and Marshal's house and Avo Jay and Roz were there to greet us as well. I have so much fun when I see my grandpa. Roz was extremely nice as well and I loved her British accent as my favorite band, 1 Direction, is also from England (except for 1 dude who is from Ireland) We hung out with them and went to the store and then more and more cousins arrived. Besides an infant that was less ... read more

While we usually head south for Thanksgiving, this year daddy decided it was time to visit friends and relative in Southern California. We had not been back for over 3 years, for the wedding of a cousin, so it was time. To fit in as much as possible, we left very early Wednesday morning and flew to Los Angeles. We rented a car, and I asked for a red one, and the nice guy gave us a red car. We drove to Thousand Oaks, but on the way daddy decided to stop at the Bangkok Airways office on the way as they only have 3 offices in the USA and none in Florida. He was glad he did as they helped him book 3 tickets for this summer's trip to Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand on a ... read more

"Now we went to an island that has a beach. We took a boat there. We went to the beach and we ate lunch there. It was really fun." Sofia Journal Entry October 27, 2012 Our final day in Panama city was supposed to be a boat/canoe ride to a small Indian village. I was really looking forward to it as we were going to see music, dancing, crafts, and I was going to be painted with something that looks like a tattoo for 2 weeks. However, due to the demonstrations, the tour guide called us and thought it was best to cancel it due to safety concerns. So after talking to the hotel staff and other people staying at the hostel, we decided to do a day trip to an island nearby. After a good ... read more
