Last stop on this fast trip - Venice. Daddy was not originally planning to go there but since Mara and Nicola never took Zaira and not sure if they ever took Greta, and it only being a 1 hour train ride away, Daddy thought it was a must. So we left in the morning and caught the train in Pordenone for Venezia. I had a lot of fun on the train with the girls. Venice was beautiful....so many little canals and old buildings. For the first 1 hour, I was in a pretty grumpy mood. Daddy says I have 1/2 day on every trip where I am in a bad mood, but he says that is understandable. And lucky for both of us, it did not last too long. I had fun playing in San Marcos ... read more

I had told daddy after our trip to South Africa/Egypt/Greece this summer that my next trip I wanted to go back to Italy to see the place I was born. So this was the time. A 2 hour drive from Valpolicella and we arrived in Sacile. It is a beautiful little town. While we did not go into the hospital, he showed me what room I stayed in after I was born for 2 nights. We then passed by the town of Aviano. This is the where the Air Force Base was that daddy worked at for 3 years. We were not allowed on it anymore, since daddy is no longer in the military. He showed me the clinic he worked at, which was now a big hospital, and the school my brother went to. We ... read more

Next stop....was in the Veneto. The first place that I went "wine tasting" when I was 3 months old. This was a place near Verona, where Romeo and Juliet are from which was in a song by Justin Bieber who I had Daddy play over and over again while we were driving. Daddy did think it was pretty funny when I changed the lyrics of one of his songs from " You Smile, I Smile" to "You Smell, I smell" after a day that we were in need of a shower. Anyway, after listnening to Justin Beiber sing "baby, baby, baby" about 35 times we arrived in our hotel. Daddy decided to go to one wine tasting place so that there would only be 3 the next day. It was Castellani, and I watched a movie ... read more

Besides friends and showing me my birthplace, one of daddy's reasons for coming to Italy was for wine. I do not know if I believe him or not but he said that most of the wine was for me as it was the 2005 year when I was born. He says that Barolo wine can last many years so I can drink it with him when I am older. Whatever....for now I just like smelling it, but daddy was impressed when the first one I smelled I said smelled like cherries. However, I was more interested in meeting the people, playing with their animals or in their yards, and eating their food. The first winery was Elio Grasso, the only winery on this trip that Daddy never went to. Elio's wife, Marina, took us on a ... read more

Now it was time to drive back to Italy where we would spend the rest of our time. We drove to Allesandro's house but on the way we stopped by a small town named Recco for some focaccia di recco. It was soooo good; very doughy and cheezy and daddy and I loved it. We ate like pigs. Then back Alessandro's house. A few of his friends came over and they were very nice. Daddy loved his basement/cellar with wine older than he was. We all went out for dinner to a restuaurant in a small town "in the middle of no where" called Berzano San Pietro . They served "Fritto Misto alla Piemontese", which was basically a whole bunch of things fried from chicken, to mushrooms from apples to chocolate and a few other things ... read more

Day 2 of our trip and we stopped by our 3rd country already. Daddy had never been to this one before and it was a very small country and much smaller than the CITY I live in. This was my 44th country I have been to. Not to bad for a 5 year old, and considering daddy had only been to 3 countries (Mexico and Canada) by the time he was 20, I think I am doing pretty good. We first walked to a place where they had a lot of famous soccer players feet in the cement called "The Champions Promenade". There were a lot of players from Brasil and Italy, but none from the USA. Daddy is a big soccer fan, and we both had a lot of fun going to the World Cup ... read more

Time for another trip, and I had told daddy that I wanted to go back to Italy since I did not remember the place I was born (I left when I was 4 months old). Daddy wanted to go as well as he had not been back for over 5 years. So he planned a crazy fast trip of winetasting, visiting friends, and seeing some places he had never been as well. We flew into turin after stopping in Paris (Unfortunately not enough time to see that famous tower I see on TV). We drove to Alessandro's house. Alessandro, his girl friend, Ilaria, and his friend, Andrea, couch surfed at our house in Miami a few months ago and had a great time. So, daddy kept in touch and Alessandro and Ilaria decided to spend the ... read more

My highlight of 2010 was the summer trip to South Africa for the world cup, stopping over in Greece and Egypt on the way. I also had a great time in Colombia for Thanksgiving and on a Cruise wtih my daddy, and his daddy - Avo' Jay. While I had a lot of fun on my travels, I also had a great time in Miami at school and with my friends. I played soccer for the first time, went to the zoo, childrens' museum and lots of parks. We hosted some fun Italian Couchsurfers and hung out with friend and neighbors. This was the year of my first crush...Justin Bieber and my daddy's last year at the University of Miami.... read more

So we have been staying in Sint Maarten for the past 5 days but it is our last post. THat is because we spent most of our time in St. Martin and visiting St. Barts and Anguilla during most of the days. Every night we ate dinner in Sint Maarten though and most nights where at the Green House which I liked a lot. However, the last full day of our trip, after revisiting the Butterfly Farm in the morning on the French side of the island, St. Martin, we spent the day near our hotel in Philipsburg. Daddy and I were amazed how such a quiet town at night turned into a crazy busy, party atmosphere city during the day with the cruise ships. Sooo many people, shops, music. It was a lot of fun. ... read more

The next day and it was time for the last trip to a new island. This one was called Anguilla. It was another short 30 minute boat ride after driving to Marigot in St. Martin. We met some people from England on the boat and shared a taxi to Shoal Bay.....This was an incredibly beautiful beach. Daddy and I had so much fun in the very blue water. We had an awesome rib lunch (yes, I ate ribs so many times on this trip, not what you would think on an island hopping adventure). After a day of fun in the sun, we took a boat back to Marigot, St. Martin and did some shopping, and then drove back to our hotel in Sint Maarten.... read more
