Driving down to Milford SOund we encountered some of the most amazing scenes of nature. Looking up at the mountains from Queenstown, they had these constant swirling, rolling clouds passing over and by them. The clouds seemed to float somewhere halfway between the earth and the sky. One cloud mass stretched half way across the landscape in an elongated triangle. Mind you we are in what the Mauri call Aoteapoa, or "Land of the Long White Cloud". As we came nearer Milford Sound from Te Anau, due to the heavy rain of the day we saw the waterfalls and flowing rivers [View Full Entry]

Minus 5 Oceania » New Zealand » South Island » Southland » Queenstown
Arriving into Queenstown, you turn a corner coming out of Kingston and are hit by this view of mountains towering over a crystal clear glass lake. What completes the perfect picture is the omnipresent sheep grazing by the water's edge. Queenstown is really beautiful, and quite quaint but some of it's charm has been stolen by the hordes of backpackers that fall out of the bars and up and down the streets. It has the most picturesque scenery and it is an adventure haven for thrill junkies so it is easy to see why people gravitate there. We also got to [View Full Entry]

One of the Rolling Stones described Invergargill as the Arsehole of the World a bit unfairly in my opinion. We literally did a flying visit today due to certain time constraints. However, got to see the orginial Indian from the World's Fastest Indian! You wouldn't believe that this was actually a motorbike never mind that you could go faster than a moped on it. No wonder they thought he was crazy! Was great to see though. We also got a photo at a sign of Invergargill and that completed our sightseeing in New Zealand's most southerly point. Cadbury's Factory Oceania » New Zealand » South Island » Otago » Dunedin
The Cadbury's Factory is awesome , we struggled there , Collen our guide was this excitable old lady who handed out chocolate bars if you answered her questions right. I got one, Red didn't .... she claimed she wasn't jealous but if you saw her jumping up and down answering questions, and hissing "I answered it first!" to me, you would think better! The factory itself is really interesting, totally captured my attention and really it's no surprise as Cadbury's has been part of my life for like, ev [View Full Entry]

Yellow Eyed Penguins  Oceania » New Zealand
Otago Peninsula is the site of the endangered yellow eyed penguins. The drive out of Dunedin is fantastic with this amazing scenery hitting you as you turn each corner, of which there are many as we are in New Zealand! Yellow Eyed Penguins are the closest living survivor to pre-historic penguins who used to walk the earth circa. 5'8" tall. A camouflaged leads down to the various nests of the penguins we visited. Penguins mate for life but there have been cases of divorce, reconcilations, and even gay couples! One of the lady penguins left her mate for Robbie, however Robbie [View Full Entry]

We arrived in New Zealand on the 22nd October, absolutely hungover with hardly any sleep and on a plane that would rival Michael O'Leary for stingness. We spent the whole flight making smart comments and wreaking the head of the poor dude who had to sit beside us. We arrived in Christchurch with of course nowhere booked , ended up in Charlie B's, had to deal with the receptionist talking fifty miles an hour and sniffling with every word. Got up to our ten bed dorm only to find some fella spread out on my [View Full Entry]

Caulfield Cup Oceania » Australia » Victoria » Melbourne » Caulfield
Caulfield Cup is a race that spans back to 1879 and lays claim to a strong honour roll with its past winners including Elvstroem, Northerly, Might And Power, Let’s Elope, Tulloch and Rising Fast. We arrived at after 11 which was a fair effort considering we were out way later than expected the night before! Gareth picked up the most foul tweed jacket in Ian's house and thought he was the true English gentleman. Himself and Ian spent most of the day pretending to be toffs and actually being tossers! They also managed to lose all their money and not win [View Full Entry]

Rid of Rid Oceania » Australia » Victoria » Melbourne
Before I officially move in, Sonnie and Irene pop over to have a look around. Sonnie has a look at the bathroom and exclaims “I didn’t know you had moved all your stuff over already”, I’m like “I haven’t!! That’s all Rid’s stuff”, we all look in amazement at the John Frieda So Blonde shampoo, L’Oreal Blonde conditioner, cleanser, toner, moisturiser, leave in conditioner, mud mask, Nair…….. Watching Rid get ready in the morning is a scary look, takes about ten different pills, drinks Aloe Vera, a protein shake .. [View Full Entry]
