Day 1 Madrid
Our apartment is on the third floor of a very old building it has a very crooked staircase and we were told to be quiet when we went in and out of it.We have a balcony looking down at a restaurant and looking forward at another apartment. In Spain I don't think I saw one house, there all cute apartments that look the same .In our apartment there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed that mum and dad sleep on with an ensuite and a tiny study with a window that you hang your laundry on the washing lines and it is a pulley system. The other room has two single beds one with a shelf which was a bit higher than mine for Zoe and because it is so high there were six draws underneath and the handles you climb up on mine only had two big, flat draws. There is a double bed loft for Franziska to sleep on with a ladder to climb up. There is a lounge room with a big couch looking at the TV and a kitchen and lounge room merged.
After we woke
up from our 17 hour sleep Zoe and Dad went to get breakfast but nothing was open. So they went to a cafe and bought glazed croissants, it was delicious. We went to the same place for a coffee I got a banana smoothie and honey on toast. After that we found a massive square called Plaza Mayor, inside were hundreds of people. We found one nice Spanish man who was making huge bubbles out of long sticks and a piece of string which he dipped in dish soap.
He invited me to make some they were massive. We walked a little more and found another man except he did not speak English I wanted to pop a bubble so went a little closer and he in Spanish invited me to join. I made huge bubbles he started talking to me in Spanish I had no idea what he said or what to say so I said nothing at all. Shout out to Melina, we found a Spanish lush how amazing I thought my outfit was on fleek.
Then we found the Spanish kings castle there was a bell in front and it rang every hour if
it was one a‘clock it would ring once. Shout out to Frankie “I can hear the bells”? The castle was huge after a while there we walked twenty minutes to casa de campo. It was very yummy .We walked home.We had a relax for a ‘bout half an hour then went to the tour de Spain bicycle race, it was amazing how fast they all were.
After that we went to dinner to an old style restaurant called Palacio we had tapas. (Tapas is a style of eating when you order a few small, different things ) It is delicious we walked the whole day which is fitting for our trip.
