Woke up early to start our 2nd day. Still takes us a while to pack up the backpacks am sure we will get the hang of it and get quicker. We all had coffee and Muffins which Nere had bought from the shop the day before for breakfast. The standard breakfast offered is normally fresh fruit yoghurt muffins crossonts dry toast with butter and jam. coffee which is always luke warm and mostly milk.

Ole started walking before us then Nere. The weather was cold but the sun was shining. We had some drizzle of rain enough for us to try out our rain coats. The scenery is amazing so green and hilly. We spent most of the day climbing up and up. We walked past so many rivers and creeks. Little waterfalls from the side of the hills. I went crazy with the camera.

We arrived at Roncesvalles at about 4,30 and OMG we are staying at a magnificent old monostary. We are very lucky as they have just finished doing up all the sleeping areas and now what was a hugh dormatory full of beds is now new cubicles with 2 bunks in each. Brand new showers toilets. After showering that night going to the toilet and cleaning teeth the next day we realised we had done it all in the mens. Oh well we will learn.

Apart from the old monostry there are two pubs. We went to one of the little pubs and met up with Nere there and had a coffee. I was so excited it started to snow. Only light but it was wonderful. I have never seen snow before. I think Jacqui and I were the only ones standing in it getting excited. I was hoping for it to snow all night so we could walk out of Roncesvalles through a white carpet but no.

At 7.30 they had a very short pilgrim pray to wish as well I guess. We went it took about 10 minutes had know idea what he was saying but we got to have a look in the very old church.

Went up for tea in the monostry with Nere. Was all so new and the pilgrim tea was great with our bottle of red then all retired as lights are out at 10pm

End of day 2 and I got to see snow .....how special was that
